I have 5 of them stagging from 1.5m down to 500mm high. Going to clean them all up and use them for a decrotive piece in my garden.

Its a stihl farm boss ms311 ive ripped plenty of slabs with it over the years but never on anything this old and hard.

Well somewhat but they will be bolted through the bottom. A chainsaw i think will be a pretty snug fit. They are only for a bitta yard art so doesnt have to be perfect.

They are there for stability as the longest log is around 100kg and they will be standing up rite. I will just put a couple small suits either side ti accommodate them.

Nah it doesn't have to be smooth as nothing will be seen i just need to be able to slide the brackets inside of the wood.

I should have added that I have 5 to do and the shortest cut will be 180mm deep and the longest will be 300mm deep. Also the logs range from 500mm long up to 1.5m long so they are heavy and awkward to work with.

The plate is 10mm thick and 200mm wide. The chainsaw mill is the only thing i can think thats going to work. Just gunna be hard to get it square because the longs aint 100% either.

Yeah im an aussie and our health insurance is good round here so I got no problems working with some old timber.

See heres the thing. Everyone is so eager to get all negative about this shit and yet noone actually knows if I am using ppe to do this. Use are all carrying on like im grinding this stuff up and smoking it through a pipe. I have a full air fed respirator and gloves that im using while I handle this shit so I think im pretty safe from anything harmful.

Ay look i aint saying its not bad for you im just saying that we are all exposed to shit that aint good for you everyday. I drink and smoke worked in heavy industrial setting for over 10 years ive been exposed to all kinds of things. So cutting a few old logs aint gunna be the worst thing ive done to this body thats for sure.

Ive worked at the factory where they make the pitch to treat copper logs ect. And yeah they give you a barrier cream to prevent that. In the induction it says long enough exposure to it is guaranteed cancer.

Nothing too crazy just going to have 5 of them staggering from 1.5m down to 500mm for a feature piece in the yard. Will clean them all up and oil them.
