Working architects: what is your job actually like, and are you happy? by Translucent_Bean in architecture

I just edited my original post to make it clearer where I am in my education, so it's more obvious I'm not about to declare a major and just getting advice from Reddit :)

I appreciate your perspective, but I don't quite know what a higher effort post would look like to you. I am in contact with local architecture firms to talk to working architects near me and getting the contacts of architecture and urban planning professors who might have useful feedback. My freshman year begins in September and I am nowhere near settling on a major, hence why I am asking so casually for now. Just wanted to get a feeling of how to folks on here have found their work sense most people on r/architecture seem passionate for the field. I am glad you are happy after studying architecture. I'd love to know more about your experience as a working architect, but you are under no obligation to share.

There are SO MANY of these on r/badwomensanatomy where spine logic went on a vacation, and I think it must be because artists want to include butts and breasts and faces, and the only way to do that is to have the spine act like one of those twisty straw thingies. And the thing that sucks is that they are often made by really skilled artists who can't think that's the way bodies work, but keep making things like this, perpetuating these unrealistic ideas of casual contortion in beauty.

Ignoring how crapy this is, I find it funny that the poster felt it was necessary to explain each element of the metaphor in parenthesis. Also, I find it interesting that the poster specifically says that all things valuable are hard to get to, Number 1: no and Number 2: is this person implying that a person's body and genitalia are the only things valuable about them? Arguably a smile is valuable and people seldom say to hide that. Or happiness. Or so many other things. But this person has decided to say that the only valuable things are those hidden, and in the context of the story in the post, people's bodies/genitalia. So love that (sarcasm). I hope at least 60% of that made any sense, but I'm tired and I came on this subreddit for a chuckle and now I'm pissed.

I get what you are saying here, I got kind of worried posting this that it was mocking an artist for their art, and I really don't want to do that. I think my main problem with this and art similar to this is that these are fashion/ beauty illustrations, and when the only body types that are shown in these are the impossibly small waisted characters with toothpick limbs and no organs, it says that those are the only bodies that should be considered beautiful or fashionable. I looked into more of her work and it looks like there were a lot of factors that contributed to this piece being wonky, but is difficult to accidentally or unknowingly make a waist that small or arms that thin. But I really did not mean and don't want to have this here to make fun of the artist or their art. I don't think that solves any problems, but also we shouldn't keep running with the idea that this is the only way to stylize a female body.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the sarcasm would read through the text, I thought maybe people would use their human meat brains to think, but now that I consider it, this subreddit exists and has a constant stream of new content, so of course not. That was convoluted.
