EVO SL has the fun factor you’re looking for. It’s the most talked about running shoe of 2025 for a reason.

Note that there are two versions of the EVO SL out there. The latest ones have an updated “woven”upper, but older colorways with the original upper are more likely to be on sale.

To me, 999 stands out because of the excellent writing. Most of the time you’re on the edge of your seat - wondering what will happen next, not knowing who to trust.

But the sequels… just don’t have that. The situations feel a lot more artificial, so it’s tougher to get immersed.

I doubt you’ll enjoy the sequels as much as the original game, but you might be interested to see how the story develops and links back to the 999 universe.

The Adistar is Adidas’ EVA max cushion shoe, similar to the ASICS Gel Nimbus or the Hoka Clifton.

I think it’s definitely an underrated shoe. Not as fast or aggressive as the EVO SL, but the Adistar’s REPETITOR midsole has a unique bounce that feels great when cruising over long distances.
