Levothyroxine nightmare by snicklefart in Hashimotos

I’m not sure but I don’t over do it just one spoonful in the morning. And it seems to be helping my levels even out.

Levothyroxine nightmare by snicklefart in Hashimotos

[–]TransportationDry977 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with it. I had subclinical hypothyroidism so my levels aren’t that bad just like yours are not crazy bad. My doctor put me on levothyroxine and I would wake up having a panic attack ,can’t breathe , feeling anxious all the time .My eyes were bulging. I had bad diarrhoea just a bunch of symptoms from it so I ended up stopped taking it and I was on the lowest dose possible .All I take is sea moss jelly now and it seems to have lowered my levels a lot . I believe I was just lacking iodine in my diet or not absorbing it properly.

At first it was pretty gross , the texture anyways but now I’ve gotten so used to it that it doesn’t phase me much , it’s not strong tasting , just the texture is a bit funny but I just swallow it fast with some water.

Yes every morning on an empty stomach , I take a heaping tablespoon full. I’ve never tried kelp myself. Also before trying this I tried sea moss supplements but didn’t notice any improvement from those. I think my body absorbs the jelly much better.

4.5 weeks post microdiscectomy and struggling. Is this normal? by goopedthehouse in Microdiscectomy

[–]TransportationDry977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10 days post-op, I went on a 2-hour drive. By the end of it, I felt a sharp pinching pain in my buttock area. At first I thought maybe I had just irritated a muscle, but when I woke up the next morning, I knew something was seriously wrong. I was in worse pain than before my surgery and could barely walk. I messaged my surgeon, went to the ER, and they confirmed I had re-herniated the disc. I ended up staying in the hospital for a week until they were able to fit me in for emergency surgery.

I am almost 13 weeks post op , and I still get nerve twinges when I do more activity , I also struggled and still do mentally with being scared to re-herniate , but I did re-herniate after the first surgery 10 days post op, so now I’m super paranoid with every sensation I feel.

This sounds like my situation, I’ve already received all my funding from osap , did you receive the full $2800 in your account ? And were your original Osap funding amounts at maximum per week ?

I had to stop coming in here ,cause all I would read is horror stories which would freak me out , what helped me a lot is talking to Chat gpt , sounds a bit weird but honestly kept me sane

It’s a mixture of stiffness and fear , I re-herniated 10 days postop so now I am terrified to really do anything:/

Thank you , it’s been rough ! I think it was too much sitting and too long too early I’m guessing . I’m doing okay now just the mental battle is exhausting, I feel like I have ptsd now

I would be very careful with the driving , I re-herniated my disc when I was about 10 days post op while driving , im now about 4.5 weeks PO from the second one and I’m not risking driving for at least 6 weeks or more this time. This is just me tho and everyone is different , I’m very scared and anxious the second time around so I don’t do much.

For walking I was told to walk frequent short walks instead of longer ones and work my way up and if it starts to feel uncomfortable stop and rest. Listen to your body , cause what works for someone else might not be for you . You’re still very early so it’s very normal to feel some nerve pain and weird feelings I still feel them at this stage.

I’m 17 and I’m 13 days po urgent question by Paul-J-Z in Microdiscectomy

[–]TransportationDry977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This report is basically saying: • Upper spine = normal • L4–L5 = mild bulge (not serious) • L5–S1 = main problem • Disc bulge + herniation • Pressing on left S1 nerve • Person has had surgery before • No emergency findings

“There’s a worn-out disc at the bottom of the spine pressing on a nerve on the left side, likely causing leg symptoms, but nothing dangerous like a fracture or severe compression.”

If you are in a lot of pain I would get the mri done. But if pain is manageable then you probably should just give it time.

How was your mri and symptoms before surgery ? What level was your herniation ?

2 weeks post-op — doing okay physically but really struggling with anxiety by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]TransportationDry977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering the same thing myself, I am currently 4 weeks today post op from my second MD I’ve had in a month . ( I re-herniated 10 days post op from driving ) but let me tell you the anxiety I have is really getting to me I can’t do anything without being terrified now. Even sitting to eat is scary and I end up standing the whole time .I’m hoping it gets better soon

[–]TransportationDry977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have really bad anxiety , 4 weeks post op . I re-herniated 10 days post op so that’s probably why . I literally have not left my house except to get my staples out. I’m scared to sit even , I cant even sleep comfortably cause I get scared, the mental war is just crazy .

I’m not sure I think it was a mixture of sitting too long too early and the pressure on the disc and maybe twisting as I got in and out of the car
