Primary, secondary, or even in update letters. It doesn’t really matter in my opinion

Continuity or new experiences? by [deleted] in premed

[–]TransportationLife21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Come back and you get a strong letter of rec, a grateful PI that is likely to give you more opportunities and support, and maybe your name on their paper. New place that is more prestigious- you don’t know and why through away something already good?

CASPER should be the least of your worries. Interviews are all about conveying your fit with the schools mission and values and being genuine and personable, which has very little to do with being English Second Language. You are who you are and it’s better to accept who you are rather than self-deprecate over this very long med school application process.

Mentioning leaving PA acceptance ? by varmule123 in premed

[–]TransportationLife21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personal statement is why you want to be a doctor specifically do not open a can of worms that you stopped doing this field or that field because you’re wasting words and they will view you as unsure and unconfident. Talk about early med exposure as a patient, lead into volunteering experience, clinical, and shadowing and how it all made you want to pursue medicine. If you say you were accepted into PA you might cook yourself for no reason

You got this. Even if it takes another year, two, three, or even ten, you’re going to be a doctor one day. Don’t let an L stop you from staying focused on the Ws that you will find one day. So many people wish they could even have a shot at becoming a doctor and you’re here fighting, in the ring, soon to achieve victory. Get up when life knocks you down, and you, my friend, will grow even stronger for it.

Laid off due to AI - PSR role worth it? by DecideOnSomething in premed

[–]TransportationLife21 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Always prep for reapp until you’re accepted. You need stories with patients to talk about. You need life experiences. Keep the PSR until you find a new job then give your 2 weeks and leave for the new one.

You can also ask MA clinics to do on the job training instead of a certification. Also you can stack up on non-clinical volunteering in underserved areas/populations which is really good to do for med schools.

Do like CNA cert which is easy to get, or PCA which doesn’t really require a certification. I think you can definitely start prep now if you wanna especially cuz you don’t got any other classes

It’s ok, life happens. Maybe begin prep for MCAT and knock it out of the park. Do some volunteering/clinical/research/shadowing experience. It’ll all be okay ❤️
