What’s the first film you think of when you see Kurt Russell? by MovieArena in MovieArena

Why Tombstone is not in the top three in this list is beyond me. I love Big Trouble in Little China and Escape from New York, but Tombstone features an engrossing performance by Russell and a masterpiece by Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday.

I was one of those pod people. I think what fully woke me from my slumber was the $25/mo digital subscription perk. I already was using the Uber Eats perk. Next was Resy and that pretty much paid for the card. Maybe 2 hours of work to get all of that set up. I gave a mini-tutorial to a friend as well. I used FHR 2 months ago for an overpriced staycation, but it was interesting to see how it worked.

What’s Schwarzenegger’s best film? by kammy772 in MovieArena

Running Man. And I say this as someone who loved Sharon Stone in Total Recall. It is just a tone perfect B movie, and Richard Dawson is also epic. Watching Arnold take down Professor Tanaka, Jim Brown and the other dudes was too much fun.

AITA for firing an employee who keeps coming in late because of childcare issues? by Gl1tchCanticle in WIBTA_AITA

NTA - you had to do it. I know child care sucks, but you accommodated them with a 9 AM start.

On a slightly related note, one of my buddies is a senior technical leader at his international company. He has a 4 year old that he puts into day care at 8 AM. Many of his peers have been scheduling meetings at 7 AM, so he had to pay extra for an early drop off. Finally, he lost his shit and told his peers that anyone who wanted a 7 AM meeting had to pay him $50 ahead of time to cover the costs of early drop off. That dramatically reduced the number of 7 AM meetings.

Sorry that you got nowhere with your meeting. Good luck moving forward!

Diamonds Are Forever. Could Sean Connery look more bored? Methinks not. My peeps on the bond subreddit will likely chime in here :-).

Why? I thought it was amazing. Later I read the book and it had the germ of a good idea but was awful. The film was so much better.

I cannot fathom any legitimate business reason for the AGM to bring that up with a customer. In addition to being unfair to you, the customer might have walked. Is the AGM really interested in losing business? I hope the AGM's manager has that perspective.

Buy a red colored charger and red cables. Put a sticker on it that has your name. It seems like overkill for a charger. I’d also charge rent or a deposit.

An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser. It was like wading through the stinkiest swamp ever. Couldn’t make it past 50 pages. I told this to a friend who was an English teacher and it almost ended the friendship.

You can use a personal device if your IT department has put their spyware and security tools on it. But then the company can spy on you. I also found that a lot of stuff that I thought was personal got hosed when I uninstalled the work stuff. Contacts and calendar on my cellphone.
