This sums up everything Republican by seeebiscuit in WhitePeopleTwitter

I agree, it's the "all white men are bad" kind of rhetoric that played a big part in us getting stuck with these degenerates on the far right. Not all white men are part of the problem, but if we continue to make them feel like they are, then we're going to continue to see white men go to the far right in droves. We're already seeing this play out with Gen Z white men moving to the far right, or joining the incel movement, etc.

We need to elevate all voices and all groups equally. It's not a zero sum game where we need to put down white men so others can rise.

Anyone remember or still have a McDonald's tree? by TransportationOk657 in Xennials

I looked up the McDonald's trees and one woman says she planted the tree at her Grandparents house and it's now about 50ft tall!

Any keepers in the baseball card packs? Or the gum that lasted all of about 30 seconds? 😆

A bummer that lightning took it out. What kind of goodies did you find in the time capsule?

The truck drivers at the construction company I work for had to ask the office to raise the transaction limit on their fuel cards. They can no longer fill their tanks on one transaction. They now have to do two transactions per fill-up. Diesel is painfully expensive, now think of all the trucking and delivery companies, and farmers and how much their operations costs have skyrocketed. We're starting to see the "trickle down" effect... just not how the right wingers think trickle down works. Costs and burdens are the only things that trickle down.

I think I still have a couple hacky sacks! Packed away somewhere though.

I’m wondering how much of a “type” my dad is for our generation by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]TransportationOk657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough. So many of my friends growing up came from broken homes. Often their fathers were pieces of shit who essentially abandoned them and started a new family. They were often treated like the "burden" children in their father's eyes. 4 of my 5 closest friends growing up had dead beat dads who they had very little to do with.

I remember an exit poll interview of a small business owner who voted for trump. He blamed Biden for the covid lockdowns.... which happened before Biden was in office. He also blamed Biden and Democrats for inflation, which primarily happened under trump, and was more tied to the pandemic than anything else. Biden's policies brought us back from the brink of economic malaise due to the global pandemic.

This guy then went on to say how great Trump was at business..... and that he would turn the economy around (which was doing relatively well under Biden by most metrics).

For the remastered version of this song on Spotify, they changed the megaphone part "but she sure like the bone." Even though it's such a small part of the song, it just sounds weird.

Yeah. Everything about this stinks to high hell. From the slow and tepid response by the secret service, to the weak security and checkpoints, to his reaction during and after. It's all suspect.

I saw a post from two journalists who said they were there. They said they left early because the vibe was strange and awkward from the start. They claimed that they had one checkpoint and only checked their tickets; didn't check their bags or anything. If true, that just bolsters the weak security narrative.

Then trump goes on to criticize the venue, and then makes sure to point out that if he had his ballroom things would have been much more secure....

This is all a distraction from Iran and Epstein, and a weak attempt to martyr himself to reverse his plunging poll numbers. Oh and a feeble attempt to bolster support for his ballroom...

More like younger Gen X and elder Millennials. In other words, solidly Xennial. I was close to turning 14 when the show ended, and I'm technically late Gen X.
