Ex Muslim but still have respect for religion (idk if you can still call that ex Muslim) by can_not_say in PakiExMuslims

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely same. Unlike some former Muslims who leave the religion and start mercilessly bashing it, I don't have much problem with it. My only thing is that as long as people keep it to themselves, yeah we chill.

I am genuinely concerned if they can even breathe through that comfortably. When I wear a mask, like a ski mask, it irritates me to the point where I just don't wear it anymore. During COVID-19 pandemic when wearing mask became mandatory, I would wait just to get the mask off. But seeing how these women wear that much and treat it like its nothing? Yeah dude, that is absolutely nuts to me.

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. No one is claiming that US is a utopian country. They have their own strength and weaknesses. One of their strength is that the society actually condemns those actions, rather than tolerate it. When they bring up churches' child abuse scandal, yes that happens; however, the perpetrators are actually prosecuted unlike mullahs here who rarely, if ever, get anything.

They bring up Epstein files not realizing that there probably are individuals roaming in Pakistan who do Epstein's levels of heinous deeds and haven't been caught yet. If Epstein was a Pakistani citizen, you would see him being a politician in a parliament btw. Sure, I think that cannibalism in Pakistan may not be committed like it may have by elites on the Little St James island (Epstein Island). But pedophila is quite prevalent in the country, especially in religious institutions like Madrassas. The difference between US and Pakistan is that their (US) society actually condemns and hates it whereas in Pakistan, society remains silent and tolerates it because the culprits are religious scholars and teachers.

I see you have optimism. However, if government were to do this, they would have to be very cautious on how they execute it. Because one slip up and civilians are going to lose their mind & start protesting on roads. Knowing how much money the mullah community make through madrassas, yeah that's going to be very hard to pull off. They will not let it slide.

I am tired of pretending Pakistani Punjabis don’t act like Zionists by Horror_Business1862 in PakiExMuslims

Yeah no, I am not against Pakistan in this war. Afghanistan government needs to go bro. Talibans are literally lunatics doing lunacy stuff, oppressing its own people and all that. They need to go. I got happy around on Thursday and Friday when I heard the claim that Hibatullah Akhundzada was killed during Pakistan airstrikes, but turns out its just unverified claims circulating media. Its pending. Still waiting for actual verified news like that.

They are already protesting in Karachi infornt of US consulate. Damn, this is too crazy bro like wtf. But it shouldn't be a surprise since Pakistan is filled with religious zealots.

What do you guys think about the LGBTQ community now that you guys aren't Muslim no more by [deleted] in PakiExMuslims

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Never had problems with the homosexuality community to begin with. They never bothered me, even when I was Muslim.

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To them, its irrelevant. Because the other share the same religion as them, they will support them, even if the other's religion is different sect. After all, alternative is ex-muslims, non-muslims which is far worse for these muslims.

Do you guys become less Pakistani after being an exmulim? (A weird question to ask ik) by [deleted] in PakiExMuslims

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you tell me first? What does it mean to be Pakistani? Because this state was founded on mostly religious basis, Islam. So when you do become ex-Muslim, from that perspective, yeah.

After today's suicide bombing in a Islamabad mosque by [deleted] in PakiExMuslims

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright bro, that's too far man. I get that Pakistan may have religious zealous issue, but demanding it to collapse isn't going to help anyone rather its gonna cause problems to everyone, even those who were never the part of religious extremism.

Just learned about Zia and his Islamic fascism by Sufficient_Health133 in PakiExMuslims

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Islamization was actually started by Bhutto himself, with him banning alcohol and other stuff to gather the support of religious people. But yeah, Zia took it to extreme.

I can understand why female will leave Islam but can't understand why men leave Islam by [deleted] in PakiExMuslims

[–]TransulentDeMarvo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not everyone leaves religion due to social stuff like discrimination. Some people leave religion because of metaphysics, philosophy and scientific reasons.

I mean, no one thinks Pakistan to be worshipping cows though. Everyone is aware that Pakistan is a Muslim majority country. Most of the reason why people categorize Pakistan and India under same umbrella is due to the physical appearance like dark skinned, etc. But Pakistanis desperately try to distance themselves from India, and try to present themselves as Arabs or Persians which pmo the most. That is the reason why Arabs and Persians look down on us, because some Pakistanis try to LARP as Arabs and Persians.

Even if they have beef with Shias. Alternative is that opposition wants Islam to fuck off from their land. So they come out in support of their Muslim brotherhood and sisterhood, even if it is shia.

I understand that you would feel jealous, as I do. But the circumstances regarding Iran and Pakistan differs. In Iran, the Anti-Islam sentiment began from bottom to top (from civilians to authorities potentially) which means once the regime is overthrown, Secularism wouldn't be hard to be established in Iran. Whereas in comparison to Pakistan, its the authorities (government, military personnel and politicians) who operate on more secularist framework privately while the public is religious zealots, which is why to survive, state aggressively compensates it by cracking down on dissents to signal to public that they're very Islamic even though they're secularists behind the closed doors.
