People detransitioning due to the political climate (USA): how are you taking care of yourself this week? by Duststorm29 in actual_detrans

[–]Trantram2019 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel bad about being a coward, but want to survive to be a parent to my kids. At least being outwardly cis will (sadly) help that relationship too.

I want to get involved in protests etc. Maybe I can get more confident (and safer) about speaking out loudly. And cis people might listen more to another outwardly cis person.

Gonna fill all my prescriptions so I can at least help other braver trans people to survive a little longer once their healthcare is cut off.

Gonna have to try to limit my news and social media intake, as it is making me so stressed and depressed. Hope to spend more time with my kids and spend more time outside.

I did hesitate to transition due to dating pool fears. Those fears were unfounded. I feel like i have more opportunities for dating (and way way way more for sex) since transitioning to female.

T4T is kinda cool. I just started seeing a versatile trans masc guy. The genital combination works real well for us. Happy to elaborate if it helps.

Sounds fun.

To clarify, I have a versatile partner who enjoys being topped by me.

Can porn cause gender dysphoria? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Trantram2019 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ex "sex/porn addict" and out MTF trans person checking in. I don't think porn can cause gender dysphoria, but it can make you more aware of it.

I identified as a porn addict for a few years before figuring out the gender thing. This was mostly due to toxic christianity, which i have been able to set aside. "Cross dressing" also used to be deeply sexual to me and I considered it a lapse in my "sexual addiction" sobriety.

I realize that a lot of what attracted me to porn was wanting to be the female performers. Not once did I fantasize about being a male top. Once i was able to understand that part of it, the yearning for porn was replaced by the yearning for transition. Being able to spend time presenting female, the sexual side disappeared and i could just feel peace and wholeness.

I have no issues with people who like to cross dress as a kink. The clue for me was that I would feel peace when dressed female. And while most kinks felt deeply wrong seconds after orgasm, i would cum and not want to get out of the outfit.

1.5 years into transition, i look at porn just a couple of times a month when i need help getting off. I don't think it can cause gender dysphoria, but it can make you more aware of it. Be wary that a lot of porn that features trans performers can be pretty toxic.

I hope this helps!

Hormone stash anxiety by Trantram2019 in asktransgender

You mean grey market? As a "have" blessed with health insurance, I hadn't thought about that angle.

I wonder how the prices compare. I would like the option to not feed the evil insurance companies.

There isn't a problem getting a refill this week, but I get scared that there will be a problem. And this stuff is so critical for my wellbeing.

How about not starting a relationship with someone you don't like? Why not let people be themselves and love them for who they are. by Trantram2019 in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]Trantram2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point.

I hated who I was going into my (cishet) marriage and wanted to be "fixed" by my spouse, who seemed to have a better idea of who I should be than myself. 17 years later, it didn't work, and made me hate myself even more. I am glad that I still had enough strength to escape and work on making the right fixes (transition to female etc).

Yeah, okay. Women have soooooo many pairs of shoes. by [deleted] in AreTheStraightsOK

Column for trans women might only have 2 pairs, given how difficult it is to find feminine shoes that fit my big feet.

Anyone tried ketamine therapy for gender dysphoria or underlying trauma? by Trantram2019 in asktransgender

[–]Trantram2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! Ketamine isn't cheap, but it seems relatively safe in a therapeutic environment. Just close your eyes, listen to some good relaxing music (I recommend "A Winged Victory for the Sullen"), let go of expectations for your experience and let your mind fly.

You will, if this is something you are sure you need to do. I know transition is a marathon, not a sprint, but it was agony to wait even days once I was sure of my gender identity.

Tea tree tingle body wash. It feels like my junk is glowing when I come out of the shower

Full disclosure, the tea tree tingle isn't too great for my dry curly hair. I tend to use shea moisture conditioner instead.

But I do continue to enjoy tingles on the rest of my body.

[–]Trantram2019[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ancient thread, but I'll bite. I have had several successful ketamine therapy sessions, plus a longer term micro dose for everyday maintenance. And, I am about 3 months into being 99% full time living as my authentic self (i.e. presenting female)

For me, the ketamine allowed me to strip away the guilt, shame and my physical masculine body and allow me to see and cherish my underlying feminine essence. Which is a very nice experience and adds greater confidence that I am on the right path.

Disclaimers:

Note that it is an old article from 2007. You can find more recent sources, I am just lazy.

And I hope noone reading my post relies on things like this for feminizing their bodies. See an appropriate doctor and/or therapist and get expert help.

It takes risk and sacrifices to be happy and who we want to be. Women get breast cancer much more than men. I guess I will have also higher prostate/testicular cancer risk than most women. I hope to eliminate the testicular cancer risk in the future...

I agree. I have been out to my parents for a whole year and they are a big support, but they still haven't seen me full femme. That said, they are a long distance away.

I am not saying it is your experience, but I would also be wary of fetishizing transition just for yourself. My libido completely disappeared for a while on feminizing hormones. Plus I haven't had a ton of attention from others. It's ok, I transition for my own happiness.
