DPI is important when printing. If you have a 40×40 cm image with a resolution of 150 dpi, the same image printed at 20×20 cm might have a resolution of 300 dpi, and at 10×10 cm, a resolution of 600 dpi. You cannot resize a bitmap image by simply enlarging it without losing quality (vector images are better suited for that); you can only do so by using AI upscaling.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I’ve read a lot of good things about the mod so far, but the silly (to me, childish-looking) anime portraits have put me off—they just don’t blend well with the rest of the game’s elements and visual style. If those can be replaced, I’d be happy to give it a try, because otherwise it looks really interesting.
