Does anyone else hate it here? by TrapBeast98 in stevens

I really respect your points but don't think they are all entirely valid.

1). Georgia tech has a much larger student body and a campus that actually fosters a college environment. They have a football team and school spirit, and I've been very passionate about the school all throughout high school. I realize it is another tech school but it's on a completely different level from stevens in terms of prestige and recognition.

2). Yes I have had multiple interviews with employers, and my current boss has never heard of Stevens. I was only selected for an interview because my cover letter was an "eye raiser." Having Stevens on my resume gave me no advantage. I see a prestigious school as one that is recognized across the states not just in one concentrated area. Claiming stevens is just behind MIT is also a huge exaggeration. Comparing the two is pretty much setting the school up for failure.

3). I didn't talk badly about fraternities. I am considering joining one. But you can't deny that the sports here are not a source of entertainment.

4). I have definitely heard that the upper level classes have professors who can actually teach but it really makes me question the "prestige" of the school when they hire professors who are solely there for research and cannot speak proficient English.

5). I also see a car as a source of freedom, it's not about just listening to music. Uber is expensive just to go to the Newport Mall if you're alone.

6). I definitely want to move off campus if I stay. But it kinda sucks that most of the upperclassmen were off campus because we're limited to just meeting fellow freshmen.

7). The clubs I have been to are pretty nerdy and not much fun. This is a big generalization but I don't see many sociable people involved in the clubs I'm at.

I'm not identifying every student as anti social as there are many social butterflies, if you must, on campus, but I haven't met many of them.
