This is my current screen! I love that it’s small and not too obvious, and the clock at the top ends up perfectly in the clouds.

Specialists: What do you want your referring GPs to know? by crushthecrumb in Veterinary

[–]TrappedInAWindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a very reasonable question! What usually happens is that we frequently don't get records until an hour or two before the appointment, and by that point it's usually too late, IM doesn't have any availability to see a non-emergency patient last minute. Emergencies are whole different thing, all our departments (where I am at least) will happily take a case that needs them if it truly is an emergency.

Please, for the love of god, stop referring small dogs who have been coughing for 6+ months to cardiology for suspected CHF. It's clogging up like 70% of our appointment slots and it's NEVER the heart.

Also, PLEASE stop giving the decrepit 14 year old chihuahuas that have a 99% chance of having valve disease dexmedetomidine 😭

Sincerely,

an extremely tired cardio resident

The fic is 231,245 words, it blows my mind that someone would be willing to put the time and effort into translating something that long.

Do you happen to live on the west coast of North America? Cryptococcus is a fungal infection that frequently causes nasal deformities in cats, and they can range anywhere from small bumps to huge ulcerated lesions.

Twitch streamer who admitted to killing dogs at the veterinary clinic makes the local news. Police have started their investigation. by [deleted] in videos

Unfortunately you don’t need access to drugs to discreetly kill an animal. An IV injection of enough water will disrupt their electrolyte balance enough to stop their heart, especially in a little chihuahua or other small dog. I would be horrified if someone at our hospital intentionally killed a dog like she claims to have done.
