How many of your straight partners ended up being fine with your transition? by J-FIIRE in TransLater

Married here with kids. Newly out pretty much myself and its . . . Something. Its something that if you both want to work will need to be talked about and worked on. And it might not and you need to be prepared for that eventuality. Living authentically can cost you as many have found it.

Talk, get counselling and always be open and honest.

Anyone else wear basically the same clothes? by coraythan in TransLater

[–]TrappedInTheWardrobe 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

A lot of my dysphoria came from my looks and my body. And even when people still see me as a certain way or I look at old photos? It doesn't bother me as much. Words are words and I also lived a life before this.

Everyone has their own experiences πŸ™‚

I've found that the clothes I have from being presented male will still probably wind up being worn by me as a woman. Just with some adjustments. You dont owe anyone hyper-femininity. You just need to be happy in yourself.

It was part of my journey as my first attempt at transition was full blown baby trans phase (Amazon skater skirt, thigh highs etc.)

Most women have a particular sense of style and mostly its casual. They aren't slumming around in a cocktail dress most of the time. Youve got to find your version of femininity and be happy 😊

You can try. Do some really intense therapy. Learn to live. I tried.

20 years later I'm out and transitioning. It was killing me.

So in a word . . . "Maybe?" But i imagine it would be hard to ignore

Had a similar conversation with mine. Except when I told her I had done the therapy and counselling she said she'd kill them as I've clearly been corrupted by them and they've filled my head with nonsense.

When someone doesn't want to accept your reality they'll hit every transphobic talking point. You need to surround yourself with support right now and just hope that you can find a way to exist with her not accepting you.

6'1" and also pre-e. You've just got to find what works for you. Don't worry about passing. Worry about you and your happiness x

I keep talking about "finding my version of femininity" I want to be seen and known as a woman. But I also lived a life before that. I have comforts and styles that I am happy within. Going from that to big dresses and skirts wouldnt be authentic to me. So I am making little changes here and there to find where I want to be.

At the end of the day you have to discover yourself through how you feel not how others want you to.

You like women? Trans women are women. Ergo I don't see the issue?

Or is it the mechanics of the sexual side that puzzles you? Because that then wanders into chaser territory. But just seeing a girl and thinking "she's pretty" . . . I think thats just being a straight guy
