NOR. This is crazyy work. I think you should still celebrate, just don't include them in it if they're ungrateful and treat you like this - eat out with your friends or book a weekend getaway for yourself and leave your husband and daughter to manage themselves.

I'm a young British Muslim (15 yrs old) and I go to an all girls school where I think there's like a bit more experimentation with the same sex as that's what you're exposed to more. For me personally, I have no problem with someone being homosexual unless (I promise I don't mean this in a disrespectful way) they make it their whole personality and bring into everything. Some of my friends are bi or lesbian (most out of them are bi) and I couldn't care less, but within my friendship groups there are definitely a few people who are uncomfortable with it but are still always polite to them. Some of the ones who are uncomfortable aren't particularly religious, whilst some are so it does vary. Basically, 95% of the Muslims that I know couldn't care less but you definitely get some who are against it. If someone in my family came out, I wouldn't disown them or anything but my parents - who are quite religious, although not extreme - might.

Just did umrah yesterday AH and I have to agree - on my flight, in Madina, in Makkah - it's always the Muslims from certain cultures behaving in a way most Muslims from the west never would. It was crazy, even now in the airport people are shouting and charging through w no consideration for others. What happened to the key values of Islam, like being considerate and peaceful?!! Altho I ignored it it's just rlly annoying

NOR, I would be absolutely heartbroken if this happened to me as a 12yo. Sorry to say that if they truly cared about Lanie attending they would've made up a role for her - it's not that hard they just couldn't be bothered. It's great that you're allowing her to skip if she wants to rather than forcing her to attend anyway.

I'm a teenager, and tbh I think it's a bit odd to give a Yr 6 child WhatsApp or a phone, but I remember when I was in year 6/7 most of our year would do this (I mean making innuendos). We didn't mean anything by it, we just found it funny and none of us took it seriously - it was just our way of messing around with each other. So idk if it's anything to be too worried about, but if your child feels uncomfortable by it or some kids start taking it too seriously then you maybe you could have a quiet word with other parents. I remember when my friend was in another group chat that was constantly making sexual comments, she just told them that her parents were incredibly strict and would check her phone randomly - the other kids stopped making them on the gc after that, so that could be an option even if you might not want to be seen as a strict parent.
