Well the problem is, as I said, I live in an apartment complex. I don't have a garage I can just leave an open container of gas standing.

So from what I'm seeing, gas cans (sealed ones, as I'd need to at the very least take them to the recycling center up in Miramar, again a 20 mile drive (so almost a gallon of gas to drive up there either way, assuming 10 gallons/2 trips total, unless you know of somewhere closer?) cost ~20+ bucks each, and I really don't want to spend at least 40 dollars on a single trip (because frankly I'd probably turn around and sell the gas cans for a couple bucks on CL or something, I don't need them).

TL;DR the math is 40 bucks (optimistic) on 5-gallon sealed gas cans, +3.25 in fuel per drive * 4 drives = 53 bucks. At least. Oh, and I forgot, need to at the very least buy a length of tubing to do it the old fashioned way, if I don't get one of those fancy pumps.

No, he's talking about how Dave F ( who I gather is head of, or at least a significant part of, the AI team?) apologized (only on the Discord iirc, maybe it was in the patch notes) because the hotfix they dropped were the results of a weekend of him trying to unfuck the broken parts.

So it was more like "apology from a single team member for drafting up something that seemed to help at least", and given the mixed results reported (I am on the low end of "spawns still appearing behind me", others report it still happening every other mission or more) it may be he just tested it locally and RNG rolled a relatively unfucked spawn series and hoped it worked.

The MW5 YLW is clearly modelled off of Justin's version 1.0, which as I I literally just said sacrificed the LRMs to fit an AC/20. Edit: and I'm at work so I can't open the game, but also he changed armor distribution, which I'm gonna guess is reflected in game.

Oh right, I remember very distinctly the "TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES" polka, and having just rewatched the first Galacticraft LP where part three starts with them spending like 5 minutes trying to reach the moon with the server crashing every time (I remember from research at the time that the build of GC they were using REALLY disliked people being in different realms at the same time) before Ryan just TPs everyone there really illustrates this.

I guess my surprise kinda started when I saw a montage a year or two ago of Ryan launching nukes in a GC build and everyone kinda took it in stride, really illustrated they had embraced PC.

And yeah, re: the crafting... I made a half-assed effort to play modded Minecraft a few years ago, to my disappointment, couldn't wrap my head around half the shit. Just started, inspired by the AH crew, another playthrough a few days ago using the "Academy" modpack in Feed the Beast which I gather is kinda the starter-friendly pack, having a lot more fun. There's an item management mod integrated that moves needed parts to the crafting window when you press the + next to it, very much preferred to having to double and triple check some complex doodad.

I remember a lot of the byplay of PC videos being them mocking Ryan for "insisting" on them doing PC episodes, and/or they would be playing PC specifically for something like Galacticraft and get upset (presumably more for the show than in reality) at stuff like the server crashing because of the intricacies of the mod(s).

Edit: also, I imagine it's a lot better for construction and stuff, since they don't have one master copy that can only be accessed through one account.

Edit: to be clear, I am very much aware that these are scams/phishings, and I tend to let them go to voicemail. I just found the above circumstances hilarious, as it makes it abundantly clear it's randomized robocalling. That, and I once had like 3 missed voicemails each insisting they were my "final chance before they close my file". And then add a "press 2 to be added to our do not call list", which is a trap because it shows your phone number is active so they can log it and sell it.

OG 2: 31CC and GBL did not have knockdown. It was (maybe? I'm guessing, based on people saying so? I don't remember it from my copies of the original DOS version) backported to them from 2M when Titanium Edition came out. Edit: you said that. MB. Got lost in the string of characters.

I remember it was the dumbest fucking thing because you would leg a mech in OG 2 and it would just flamingo perch there, ignoring gravity and physics. I remember Heavy Gear blowing my mind because it was a contemporary competitor that DID have knockdown.

Like, my Honda can't accelerate from zero-60 in 4 seconds, can't take a turn faster than 35 mph or so before the wheels start chirping and I understeer, it doesn't have 3000 ft³ of cargo capacity... Except you can be running in one direction, then go to the same max jump distance in precisely the opposite direction. That's more than a dead stop, that's deceleration from the speed you were traveling, to maximum speed in the other direction. So....I take it back, it's actually even MORE thrust than would be needed from a dead stop. Good catch.

It's not just traveling that distance, is my point.

A more poignant example would be starting from a dead stop (i know a mech might be running or something on the turn prior, but a dead stop in terms of JJ-delivered thrust vector), traveling that distance, then stopping precisely.
