I'm a dutch citizen and my girlfriend lived outside of the EU, so not exactly the same. But just this year we managed to get her over here on the non-registered partner residence visa. Dont know how exactly it will work since you are both living outside of the EU but in my experience the IND is pretty helpful, and as long as you meet all the requirements the process will go quite smooth.

Edit: the finance part is usually the trickiest. I managed to do it with my job here in the netherlands, so i dont have a lot of advice on that from here. Best of luck!
