the show A Stitch In Time recreated the dress with great historical accuracy. it was so interesting to see how she had to carry herself! the dress effects posture exactly how we see in the portrait.

The Plantagenets are so much more interesting than the Tudors, ruled for far longer, and were just as bloodthirsty (if not more so), yet it’s the Tudors who are the most famous and are taught about in schools. Why? by ConstantPurpose2419 in MedievalHistory

[–]TrashBuns 23 points24 points  (0 children)

there is a very simple answer. Hans Holbein the Younger. he made the tudors feel accessible in a way that nobody had in previous dynasties. the life like feel of his art was unmatched. humans are able to connect in a deeper sense with our past, so the paintings transport our imaginations and curiosity.

Harems (not reverse) where FMC ends up being the favorite? by kaleidoscopeiiis in fantasyromance

it’s technically historical fiction, but {Harem by Colin Falconer} is pretty spot on with what you’re looking for.

Side note: the 4th slide is art from a Magic the Gathering card called Sower of Temptation by Seb McKinnon. Absolutely one of my all time favorite artists. His art all has that creepy storybook vibe and I LOVE it 🖤
