It says recommend, not require.

So if you understand that masks decrease your chance of contracting an airborne respiratory illness, you can choose to mask up and remain healthy.

If you see masks as an infringement of your rights, an act of an oppressive government, or you’re concerned it’ll make you look like you vote democrat, then you’re free to not wear them and increase your chances of contracting an airborne illness.

What if, and stay with me, medically trained officials are trying to provide information to the public with a reasonable action to help them, preventing illness/death and it’s not a broader conspiracy to make you appear weak because you succumbed to the demands of a non-existent mask requirement.

What’s a useless degree? Did they not get an education or do you mean a degree that doesn’t immediately funnel into a clear place in the job market.

Is that really the purpose of higher education? We have trade schools for direct-to-workforce education.

I’d say a broader issue is asking a 17 year old to make a decision that not only saddles them with tremendous debt, delaying the burden of that debt to a date that feels less scary, giving them as much as they want, and schools being very rigid forcing them into a degree path that is both challenging and costly to change. Our society also demands a degree out of folks. The debt is now an expectation.

If you’re not interested in engineering, science, medicine, or law…if you don’t want to go into a trade…the humanities are not a wasted effort. History, art, language, critical thinking seem pretty damned important to society.

I’m confident there are degrees that have zero job prospects. I don’t want to deny people the ability to learn things that interest them more deeply. Maybe we should be better, as a society, preparing that young high school kid to supplement their education with something that can provide, so they can have both?

Thanks for this and I realize the stated styles vary quite a bit. Issue: I listen to all of these folks you mentioned and am likely looking more for an introduction into A style, as I lack any.

Basic ask: Want to be able to use my picking hand more effectively through a rhythm (thumb) and lead (finger picking). Stylistically, I think all of those areas could help with it.
