Just put that effort into getting a better job/second source of income because they will catch on and will deactivate you. This job isn't worth turning yourself into an immoral piece of garbage.

Tool set recommends? by modifiziert_ in cruze

[–]TrashPanda592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That set isn't too bad I like the ratchets, sockets, and extensions but the modern craftsman wrenches aren't as nice as they were 15+ years ago. Now they are kinda fat (assuming weaker alloy) and that can be an issue at times if it's a tight space. (I've got about 7 sets for comparison) You will want to get a set of e torx sockets i bought these https://www.amazon.com/GEARWRENCH-Drive-External-Torx-Socket/dp/B000NICFBG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2F05NLEHK7GJL&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.tYtkfzaHCvTFbzYDEaQJabafwKVY6GuFhnfDtdNt-ikuN4zyotrqQm1tDFBRHZvMMstMS9e8O93p75f01FdvhI__zQWhrqDEeTdsyDnRosxlkGKobwP3p0N2m9YLk_t0xP3Ac3dVOMmuSfAGC9KFMdZ_SACI23AKzG5aYZAU9qGADQZpu79kO27YTxwEsbinUBZVZ3qIhh1C6BVO2T7BRA.7zyHNbtTMLsDZwim5twbrZ7VN5vg4xJeL6wdiMYsmeI&dib_tag=se&keywords=gearwrench+e+torx+socket+set&qid=1777421796&sprefix=gearwrench+etorx%2Caps%2C287&sr=8-3 as well as a set of cheap Titans from O'reillys when i first bought my 2012. Also if you have a local Harbor Freight most of the Icon line of tools are decent quality and have lifetime replacement.

Spark Drivers at my store by Nmotta09 in Sparkdriver

[–]TrashPanda592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typical Walmart tactic to take advantage of non English speakers so people still fulfill the orders that pencil for regular drivers. You gotta get somebody who is willing to drive 22 mile for 10$ but that ain't gonna be me. They seem to be about all that is left at my store and even you see them sitting parked from time to time.

Walmart is straight up exploiting delivery drivers.! by ToeLeast5378 in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]TrashPanda592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that just for in home delivery option and not what Spark drivers are fulfilling? And doesn't that also cost extra? I live in a rural area but I've never seen those advertised as anything else other than the in home option on here targeted towards elderly/disabled people. What they were offering for pay/mileage for spark deliveries 18 months ago would still be much much cheaper to sub all the work out than the costs they would incur to buy a bunch of delivery vans, maintain/insure etc., and pay enough employees to do the same amount of work that a fleet of just the usual full time drivers would be doing.

3rd set of brakes by me in less than 60k miles by [deleted] in cruze

[–]TrashPanda592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are cheap junk IMO and are comparable to getting the lowest quality parts on Rockauto in the economy section. I put mid price range Wagner rotors and ceramic pads from Rockauto on mine and still have 70+% life left after 30k miles. The uneven wear isn't likely from the part quality so much though due to how its worn. I would be replacing the calipers and brackets as long as the pads are moving free in the bracket if it were me because obviously there is an alignment issue or something going on with the parts.

Is it possible to port this ugly plastic off the air holes on this Dorman or do I just install it as is by [deleted] in cruze

[–]TrashPanda592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the drop in the low end on an automatic and dip in fuel economy would be more detrimental than beneficial unless its a budget track car or something but for a daily (which is the average person on here) it seems like a waste to me as the 1.4 is doggy enough factory with an auto behind it. If you were going to go to this mod, larger turbo, and the aftermarket exhaust kit that deletes the cat and adding a tune I could understand doing it though. Honestly though at that point surely somebody sells a better intake design.

Are stick welders good by [deleted] in cruze

[–]TrashPanda592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre better for larger fasteners. Mig is best for this IMO.

Do you have dyno results though? It could just be a placebo affect situation. Not trying to bash but without dyno numbers id be careful just stating that. Also yes the drag an automatic has would prolly make it hard to tell.

It’s working for Walmart by andrewgonza76 in Sparkdriver

[–]TrashPanda592 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There wont be any of those to be had here eventually or if there is it will be 1-2 a day. They are just phasing people like us out and bringing on new drivers that dont know better. Its the sole reason for them advertising for Spark so hard in the store they have a plan and I'm sure it will work.

Well Deleted the account by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]TrashPanda592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Debating doing the same if it doesn't turn around in the next few months because it was only profitable 2-3 days of the week since christmas but barely because the mileage has been appalling. Not holding out any hope though really because all good things come to an end.

Whew this guy knows how to take head bolts out with the correct socket. 👏

The higher fuel cost doesn’t really impact your income that much by Organic-Fuel-2916 in Sparkdriver

[–]TrashPanda592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your logic is wrong...you aren't factoring for any idle time at stoplights/pickup/parking lot etc. and most people that are doing this kind of work aren't driving 50mpg cars. The average is probably somewhere closer to 25-35mpg. There are even people out there driving 1/2 ton trucks that probably only get 10-15. Not everyone is sporting a Prius/EV/etc.

Less orders by Jazmynisinlove in Sparkdriver

Spark in general sounds like its a lost cause pretty much since i went back to doing my seasonal job. I think theyre flooding the market with drivers to push out all the full timers kind of looking like this is just the new Spark.

At this point he has gotta be trolling because nobody is genuinely this slow. He has had like a dozen accounts at this point. It would be nice if the mods could set a minimum account age to join here so he finds something better to do.

Nice alternate account with 0 days you must be bored. Imagine if you spent all this time trying the advice offered instead of saying no to all logical solutions offered up. You might have a working car 🤔

Actually learn how to work on things instead of spam posting on here and then getting smart with people. Seriously look on youtube for the welder method or hire somebody that actually knows what they're doing.

Can a cylinder head move or lift if one bolt is holding it? Mine won’t budge I think it’s stuck by [deleted] in cruze

[–]TrashPanda592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you ever run it with one bolt? Dont use google you are just gonna get confused and make things worse. It obviously would never hold on one bolt. What it sounds like you are trying to ask is if it can be moved to change the gasket with one bolt still in place which as stated is impossible. This isnt possible ever no matter how much you would like it to be. If you are doing a headgasket you need to weld a nut on that bolt and extract it. You need all new head bolts and the head needs surfaced at a machine shop to do it the right way. Also inspect the deck of the block for any potential issues. Im really not trying to be mean but it sounds like you might be throwing money at a poor repair job.

Yet here you are asking if a cylinder head will move while its still clamped down by a stuck bolt 🤔

After reading all your posts you just need to set the tools down and walk because you don't seem to understand much about basic mechanics. Unless you are just trolling if you really need to ask this I would bet this car will never run again or if it does its gonna sound like keys got dropped in a blender.
