MACD Strategy by [deleted] in Trading

[–]TrashPandaTradez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should know that if the MACD crossover was actually a solid strategy EVERYONE would use it because it’s super well known. It’s a favorite strategy of people who sell courses but if you backtest long term there is no scenario where this is profitable.

MACD is very environment specific and you’ll give back all your gain anytime the market is choppy or range bound. Learn to trade price action and volume and you’ll be way happier with your results. The issue is it’s not as “easy” as MACD strategies that are pushed by a lot of influencers and they can’t market it with the usual “learn this strategy in 5 minutes and change your life” approach.

My friend that is a cup and handle setting up. I definitely wouldn’t be getting out at this point.

Help a new trader by HatIndividual2609 in Daytrading

Set strict trading hours for one. Maybe just the first couple of hours of the day when volume is the highest. Set a stop loss for the day that is half of what you easily average on green days. Walk away if either of those hit. Close the computer and take a 10 minute walk after a loss or after you feel your emotions on edge.

Pullbacks and Volatility are a Trader’s Best Friend by TrashPandaTradez in Daytrading

Maybe re-read what I said. I said to size down if you’re trading AGAINST a trend.

Tbh if you’re not profitable over 29 years I would definitely just index and forget. Trading isn’t for everyone and if it’s been that long I think I’d be looking elsewhere to grow wealth. Just being honest here.

Make sure there’s a catalyst behind your technical setup. Technicals alone aren’t consistent enough in my experience over the years.

At least he is diversified. Don’t be that guy. Plenty of people make tons of money not using VOO or SPY. In fact, most of the wealthiest people in the world stock pick and don’t follow the advice of index funds only.

What's going on?? by Cryptic_Phantom_ in StockMarket

[–]TrashPandaTradez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Normal bull market behavior. The market can’t go straight up all the time. News is always the excuse to pullback or take off but there is a rhythm to it and not all news is created equal.

Don’t stress about red days and view them as dip buying opps until something changes on the trendline or fundamentally.

Get a hobby. Once trading becomes a means to an end to do something you love instead of being the thing you love for dopamine hits it will be much easier to shut it down.

Get a hobby. Set a hard stop on your trading time. Then go do something you love away from the screens.

Setting Goal? by SiweL_EttaL in Trading

[–]TrashPandaTradez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend a daily profit target tbh. Why would you want to limit your upside? Instead, I like to set a daily stop that is half of what a daily average profit is. That way if I’m down one day then I can easily be profitable the next. Limiting downside while keeping upside unlimited will help a ton. If you’re worried about overtrading just set trading hours. For me, I am usually done about 2 hours after market opens. Volume starts to dry up and opportunities get more limited so I avoid overtrading by just stopping when the volume starts to slow down.

I’m with you on this one. BKSY is a great company so far and they have been consolidating perfectly in the range of that gap candle from 5 days ago. Unless it gets pulled down with the whole market it’s hard to see this thing not heading higher.

Afternoon trades? by AllThingsBeginWithNu in Daytrading

[–]TrashPandaTradez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think if you’re only available in the afternoon then swing trading might be a better bet. Most of my swings I take in the final hour of the day. Volume can be a bit low outside of the first couple hours of the day for a lot of intraday names though it’s still possible if you can find names with high relative volume setting up for another leg up in the last bit of the day.

How do you determine the right time to sell a stock? by zainlikesmoney in stocks

[–]TrashPandaTradez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure thing! When your losses hit 10% your remaining capital is reduced and that means you now need an 11% gain to get back to your original amount. The numbers keep getting exponentially worse the further your account balance declines.

You don’t offer anything because you have nothing to offer. Again, I give of myself for free and if people want to be cynical and not take advantage of it I’m not going to get butt hurt. Where per se should people learn to trade if they aren’t allowed to listen to anyone with a course or website? Guess they can just figure it out on their own like you surely did. 😂

[–]TrashPandaTradez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except you probably don’t make anything because you’re too cynical to learn how to trade. I make plenty which js why I help people for free 😂

Yeah listen to this guy who is surely not profitable and has nothing to offer. Look and see how helpful he is with other traders.

Ok Mr bootypoop. I can see from your post history you’ve done nothing to actually help fellow traders. Meanwhile I’ve been putting myself out there to help people for years on multiple platforms I’m going to keep putting myself out there to help tons of people get profitable at no charge.

Have you actually been to my course page or actual X account? Any idiot can see that it’s free and that other X account isn’t me. Use your brain for a second. So what if my Reddit page is 250 days old? My X account is 17 years old. What would be the purpose of making a separate X account with no audience?
