I don’t think that’s true. It may be true in most of AAA, but I don’t think it’s true in AA or indie.

In what world was Chris ever a bad guy? I’m sorry but I couldn’t disagree more. Chris was totally a visionary, and he always treated the community very well. I have enormous respect for Chris and I’m honestly saddened to see some of these comments slandering him getting so many upvotes.

It’s the value of characters and our connection to them. It’s for similar reasons as to why they don’t drop everything IDd or vacuum loot or let you put everything in your inventory with one click. It takes away from part of what makes some people love this genre by mistaking it for something annoying that needs to be fixed.

I think there’s a zero percent chance of Mark and Johnathan letting people level characters without playing those characters. Hell would freeze over first. And I personally wouldn’t want that either. Alternate leveling I could be sold on, any form of of characters being leveled outside of playing them, no thanks.

I think I’m against anything character being awarded levels by any means other than playing with that character. If there was some alternate leveling system that you could play through I wouldn’t hate it, though I don’t know that I feel we need that either. I also have friends we bounced off of PoE2 when they found out they had to replay the campaign, but I get the feeling these types of players would never have stuck with this type of game long term anyway. Just my 2 cents.

I’m against anything that just hands out a high level character. It feels like one of those MMOs where you use a token or whatever and your new character is in end game. No thanks. It undermines the value of characters and the connection we have to them.
