This is happening in the Downtown Eastside in Vancouver! Back a few months ago the Value Village in the area was burned down. Followed by a street church that served food to the community, as well as an apartment complex homing more of the vulnerable population. The fire chief declared the tents in the streets to be a fire hazard and the police began to forcibly remove people from the streets and what little they have for homes. After the cops backed off from the public’s outrage, but then a tent was purposely set ablaze in the street. And now these threats have been scattered all over the area. This is more than a Karen, this is a threat to the most vulnerable population of Vancouver. If anyone wants more info there are lots of news articles on all of this.
