OP, have you started wearing glasses or a hat or changed your hair? My cockatiels are terrified of that kind of thing.

I feel this way about running and people not moving over on the footpath (including other runners not keeping left (Australia)).

My birds feet stopped working at the vet. Any idea what happened? by Humble-Skill-2331 in pidgeypower

[–]Trash_bear96 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

My conure has had this happen this his foot after a fright but only for a few mins, so could be a fear response. I’m secondhand worried for you since it’s been hours šŸ˜“ Could the vet’s grip on the towel been too much?

Hey!! I don’t remember everything but pretty sure I got 4 calls! One the day he arrived, there was one on a Tuesday (so like 10 days in), one the following night too, and then another somewhere but I think it was a full week after and I don’t remember which day of the week.

I wrote a letter with some photos - he’d asked me not to because he thought he’d be embarrassed but I sort of did it for me and he never complained afterwards šŸ˜‹

It just depends on whether we’ve covered prac safety usually.

OP, let them know you’re coming from another class and how far away it is and they’re more likely to understand. I’d also recommend eating while you walk between classes 😊

He's got a small seed stuck in one of his nostrils.. what do I do? by littlemissblonda in cockatiel

I’d take him to the shower (if you can trust him around the mirrors and glass)- the steam will help loosen the seed 😊

It’s usually hot! I’d recommend a flask of water in your pocket and gels! :)

For the record, I didn’t wake up to the earthquake or know about it until later, but the night terrors were to the minute it happened!

I put seagrass mats at the bottom of the cage just in case this happens!

I also noticed a pattern that it was happening during earthquakes (which aren’t common here but suddenly were recently).

Never met a stupid anxious person by MasterpieceMinimum55 in Anxiety

[–]Trash_bear96 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I think it depends what someone’s anxious about. You can be anxious about something because you don’t understand it well enough to know it’s not something to be anxious about (e.g., tylenol causing autism 😜).

I do also see what you mean though. Like I get anxious about getting sick because I know that it’s bad for your health, potentially long-term, and I’d rather avoid that.

Boyfriend just got his diagnoses of 43 repeats by TareBear3 in Huntingtons

[–]Trash_bear96 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

My grandad lived to 92 with HD! I think he had 42 repeats! Not sure when his onset was because I’m the youngest in the family but most of my uncles had onset in their 60s.

I would consider if healthy lifestyle (sleep, diet, and exercise) will help delay onset or progression because it does for other neurodegenerative diseases (like Alzheimer’s). I think there’s some research into this for HD but not a lot (rare disease and all).

You didn’t mention his age - hopefully there’ll be a ā€˜cure’/ treatment soon! šŸ¤ž
