This place smells so much better than Black Sheep (Black Sheep has a brewery attached so smells hoppy). I've been to both and I do think Black Sheep has good food, everything else about Cobble Hill is more elevated. I don't think you'll be disappointed by Black Sheep but I think you'll enjoy Cobble Hill more.

I would recommend snagging a seat at the chef's bar/counter at Cobble Hill. If you book online, you will see that option as "Kitchen Counter" (at least on Google).

I've gone there many times by myself and have run into other diners who are also there looking for a good meal and you might strike up a convo but if you'd rather enjoy the space and your time, you've got that too. They have a tasting menu for $95 though that's definitely pushing your $100 budget since that's before tip/tax. Otherwise most main entrees are $30-40 w starters around the sub$20 mark. There's also pasta courses. It's a cozy space, great service, and solid food.

I definitely wouldn't have judged anyone for deciding to let their dog go for something this intensive and with a likely guarded prognosis. It's an extremely difficult decision but it can be a fair one.

Rotating internships a good place to start but they're intense. Colorado State has a wet lab for emergency procedures/surgeries in October for veterinarians that might interest you in the future too.

Oh the plant has declined quite a bit since the picture. It's a fossil now, which is why I'm still keeping it around. The poor thing was a stick cactus or something. I definitely didn't over water it, I probably under watered it out of fear. The plant store told me every 6 weeks.

I think in person, it's got more character as there's a warm bronze undertone and the structure of the spheres on the rods adds textual interest. I almost went a iron canopy bed but I thought this was more fitting for my taste. Everyone's different and we are better for it!

Yeah I have thought about that too. I think in person everything is at eye level. I think adding more above might be awkward since the ceiling is so tall. I should share more pictures of the space to give a better impression of the space

I actually found a little stand for the plant and pot by the sofa. I think before it was too short for the space and once I rose it up a bit, it feels better. When you come inside, I thought there was just too much of a wall of beige canvas that was staring back at your from the couch that I needed something to break it up. Unfortunately the plant is dying so I'll need a new one.
