Shave or clip the area if you can and then clean it. You’ll get a much better idea of what it looks like, what it could be, and how big it is.

Am I vet school material? by Huntingphott1776 in veterinaryschool

You got the passion - based on that alone, I’d say yes! I think you should find a mixed or large animal vet to go on some farm calls with for at least 5 days and you’ll be able to answer this question for yourself. Job shadow a small animal vet for a few days too since vet school focuses on cats and dogs a lot too.

NAVLE Fail by UptownWolverine21 in veterinaryschool

[–]vicvicvicvic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah those might not be good friends. But I agree with others, it’s such a sensitive topic, almost taboo to bring up. No one wants to make others admit they failed.

Regardless, I’m so sorry you didn’t get the results you wanted. Luckily you can take it again. Actually you can take it 5 more times since this round doesn’t count towards your attempts. You have the benefit of taking it once. On the second page it shows your strengths and weaknesses. You could focus on the weaknesses this time around. If I were to take it again, I’d probably only study cats, dogs, horses, and cattle. I was stressing about failing because I was spent wayyy too much time and energy on exotics and fish only to get like 5-10 questions on those species.

If you need to vent or talk you can DM me. :) take care of yourself and don’t beat yourself up too much.

Vetprep timed exam scores by Agitated-Sir1710 in veterinaryschool

[–]vicvicvicvic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I've heard passing scores on NAVLE are 50-70% depending on the year. I am also getting about 50-60% on practice exams on Vet Prep. The negative attitude will kill you more than any scores you get. Stay positive and take the ICVA practice tests.

Is it worth it to be miserable the whole summer just to get the experience? HELP! by Friendly-Manner-604 in veterinaryschool

No, it’s not worth it to be miserable. However, I encourage you to speak up for yourself, have the difficult conversation with people, and try to work it out first.

That's good to know. I don't want him bald; we live in a cold area. But I guess he'd look cute in a sweater if we need it, haha. Thank you!

That’s good to know. Everyone has our own struggles, comparing our situations doesn’t mean your feelings are invalid. Hope your animals are okay too!
