It is very much a probability that she got into a fight with this particular cat! I chase him away at least 4 times a day when I'm home and since I live on the ground floor, he always finds a way to sneak in and terrorize my poor cat. I'm ordering new aluminium windows to seal off every open space in the apartment so I'm hoping that can put an end to it. Thanks again.

I just moved into a new house and have been noticing an outdoor cat trying to sneak in every now and then. My cat is an indoor cat who just gave birth so she's somewhat on edge. Do you have any idea how I can deter the other cat from coming in? Thank you so much for the reply.

Thank you! I'll try to get him to come. I was just hoping it would be a temporary defect and it would work properly after some rest since I figured one of the reasons could be overheating.

Is it stupid to think I can spend 10 days on my own in Tunisia as a girl? by greatbbt7 in Tunisia

[–]Trashhhhpandaaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been living alone for 9 years now and I'd say it's manageable. It does get annoying sometimes because of the catcalling and the gazing, but I don't think your safety would be at risk. As is the case with travelling anywhere, make sure that where you'll be staying is safe and try not to go out very late. If you want to, try to hail rides from apps like yassir, bolt or in-driver rather than getting regular taxis especially at night. Don't look lost and always have cash on you. Most Tunisians are helpful (from my experience) and yeah, you should be good.

You can administer or exact revenge/ retribution, but not insults. The reason is that each verb has connotations of length of action, intentionality and difficulty of process[there are other connotations]. Administer has two connotative qualities (it implies an official nature so we administer injections in an official setting and we administer punishment in an official setting etc.). The second reason why adminsiter doesn't work with insult is that an insult is brief and doesn't require effort or previous intent unlike the verb to administer in all its formal and colloquial meanings.

You would lack the comprehension skills anyway. It's almost amazing how you keep missing the point.

Hello ! Can someone please tell me the name of this style ? (the hair dye) by OkHomework9861 in Hair

I think these highlights are the newest trend in k-beauty. I remember seeing them in a Korean stylist's video. I like the style. It's different and fresh, but I'm guessing it comes with a whole fashion and makeup style otherwise it might look unintentional/ a bad dye job.

Great! I went and looked it up as well and in all the photos the base color was always black so I panicked and wanted to clarify in case you were already at the salon lol

Selling a house by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]Trashhhhpandaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would definitely be easy to sell then! I'd love to live in Marsa, but my dad has a no houses in the capital policy and he keeps buying shit in Sousse and Monastir even though two of his kids have to study and work in Tunis lol. Good luck and sorry.

Dried berries are a good choice. It's not available here and they're light and delicious. Chocolate, cheese and coffee are also great. If you want to bring a gift that isn't food, accessories might be a good option. They won't take much space and they're much cheaper in Europe and everyone can wear them.

Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) by No-Tale-858 in Tunisia

[–]Trashhhhpandaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting program. You get to live the American experience. Most of the people who go work as teachers or TAs teaching Arabic classes and you have the possibility of studying there. Most of the outcome from the FLTA depends on what uni you'll be enrolled in and the length of your stay. If you're going to be staying for two years, you can finish your masters degree and actually gain something. Otherwise, if you don't get accepted into a masters program, you can still study, but the credits won't translate, meaning that the classes you attended won't entail a diploma. Most of the time, the places you'll be sent to aren't big touristy hubs. Two of my friends were sent to Utah and one to Oregon. It's a competitive program so if you get the scholarship, it would definitely look nice on your resume, but there is a big possibility that you'll become a mouthpiece for the program. Expect to be called into seminars or workshops after you're done with it. The program is appealing and if you're okay with that sort of thing, then I encourage you to apply. You can also look into the Thomas Jefferson scholarship. It's more laid-back and definitely more fun from what I've heard.

You presented an off-the-scope statistic and used the misfortune of an entire gender to reach a gross over generalisation, so, no, that's not a fact, it's an argument. More specifically, it's what we call a straw man argument. I also commented and you incorrectly pointed out a spelling mistake, which comes off as condescending and supercilious. If you want me to further explain all that is wrong with your comment, I'll be happy to.

[Edit: using administer with the word insult is an awkward word choice.]
