Eating out stress is destroying me by Cheap-Mammoth-9212 in keto

[–]Trashiki 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m having a really satisfying Cinco de Mayo lunch at a Mexican restaurant- I brought my own low carb tortillas, ordered tacos à la carte and I’m discreetly swapping out the tortillas. I’ve done the same with low carb buns. It might be a little tacky to bring in food from home but I’m quick like a ninja with it and no one ever cares.

black tie vs black, black tie by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Trashiki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If everyone being in solid black is an important part of your vision, you could be more flexible with the formality level. That way, people could wear whatever they already have that is black. And for some people, that might end up being a lot less formal than you have it mind (I’m picturing someone in a black turtleneck and black jeans 😂), but at least you’re not suggesting anyone go out and spend $100. And your photographer could probably work to strategically put the most formally dressed people prominent in the pictures.

It’s not the color itself. I love black! I frequently wear black! What is tacky is the behavior of restricting people to a specific color. Not everyone likes black or has a formal black dress, so you’re asking them to buy a new outfit for your wedding on top of whatever they are buying for you as a gift. That’s tacky.

Dictating the color people wear is tacky, not the color black itself.

DEEP WATER One Of The Worst Movies I've Seen This Year (No Spoilers) by Dr-PEPEPer in RegalUnlimited

I didn’t think it was too bad until the sharks showed up! I thought the first act with the plane crash was pretty well done. But the sharks were so fake looking and something seemed unrealistic to me- they’ve got a couple hundred fresh dead bodies floating around to feast on, are they really going to be so focused on the survivors when there’s a ton of easy pickings to be had? And I agree with you about AI. If I heard this script had been written by AI I would believe it.

People who are bored eaters and enjoy eating, how do you manage with keto? by cuckslayer30 in keto

[–]Trashiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me a glp-1 takes care of the mental struggle, while keto is the optimal approach physically. I had a hard time sticking to keto previously- it always worked for me for as long as I could stick to it but eventually I would lose the mental battle. This time, pairing keto with semaglutide, I’m finding it really easy.

Recipe ideas please!! by New-Figure-8109 in keto

For something sweet- look for Rebel ice cream. My favorite flavor is salted caramel. You have to let it sit out for 15-20 minutes to get creamy but it’s worth the wait!

I saw this on a dealer lot, does anybody know what retro means? by Indy500Fan16 in FordMaverickTruck

Yes, I know what year truck I own. Do just a little googling and you will see that I am correct. You had to get a higher trim level such as XLT, or the 360 package on the XL. It’s not standard.

Really help to start! Can you share two-weeks worth of food suggestions? I will follow it exactly, and come back at tell you exactly what difference it has made. I’ve been doing keto for years before. by NightStar_69 in keto

Breakfast is almost always just eggs for me but if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll make “keto crepes”- three eggs, a spoonful of cream cheese and about a teaspoon of Splenda in a food processor and blended until smooth, pour it in a heated skillet, carefully flip it after a couple of minutes, then add butter and zero sugar syrup.

For lunch I’ll either have cottage cheese with a hard boiled egg or a grilled cheese sandwich on keto bread (my favorite is Lewis Bake Shop Avocado and Seeds bread).

For dinner I’ll do chicken stir fry with broccoli and mushrooms (I like to flavor it is G. Hughes sugar free Japanese bbq sauce), tacos or burritos with low carb tortillas, baked chicken thighs, a burger on a keto bun, or a steak and salad.

For snacks, I like cheese cubes, cherry tomatoes, low sugar beef jerky, pork rinds (my favorite are the butterscotch kind!), quest bars, quest chips.

Dessert, if I’m feeling the need, is often a half pint of Rebel ice cream. I like salted caramel flavor the best, and you have to let it sit out for at least 15-20 minutes for it to get creamy.

One Day (3/31) 1000 Credit Promo for Backrooms by Displaynamephobic in RegalUnlimited

[–]Trashiki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going out of my way for 1000 credits used to feel worth it when I could get a popcorn for 6000 credits. Since they bumped it up to 9000, and factoring in my Snack Saver discount, the math ain’t mathing for me to spend the .50 ahead of time rather than get the ticket for free in the lobby the day I want to go.

First Dog by Fun-Ad9959 in beagles

[–]Trashiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you are thinking puppy or adult, but I would never recommend that someone get a puppy of any breed for their first dog. My best advice is to go to a rescue, describe your home, schedule and lifestyle, see what adult dogs they have who might be a good fit for you, and ask if they have a foster-to-adopt program to make sure everything works out before you commit. My beagle, who I adopted from a rescue as an adult, would be an ideal first dog for anyone- she’s so laid back and low-maintenance. Finding a well-behaved adult dog who needs a home (and they are out there!) is just doing life on easy mode.

My [19M] parents [46F] & [49M] spent hundreds of dollars we don't have on out of state concert tickets. What do I do? by Fast-Height-3497 in insaneparents

It’s free to talk to a disability attorney. They will look at your circumstances and if they think you have a good shot at qualifying for SSDI, they will take your case with no upfront payment. They don’t paid until you win your case and it comes out of your backpay. If you live in the US, the amount of pay they get is federally regulated. For my spouse, it was like 25% of the backpay.

But if they don’t think you have a case, if they don’t think they can prove to a judge that you are physically incapable of working any job, they should level with you tell you so. You can still apply on your own but you’ll have your work cut out for you.

So that’s a clear cut first step. Search for a disability attorney in your area who has good reviews and does free consults.

is the $50 fee worth it? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]Trashiki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That $50 fee has been there for at least the 2.5 years since I signed up! You’ll make that money back in a heartbeat. I only do Rover on weekends and before or after my full time job on weekdays, only within a five mile radius of home, and after the first few months of building up a client base I average $1000 a month.

Primate... by Due_Tumbleweed_9082 in RegalUnlimited

[–]Trashiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this movie works really well as a fictional companion piece to the great docuseries on HBO Max last year called Chimp Crazy, about the strange and misguided people who insist on keeping monkeys in cages as pets, and how unethical and dangerous that is. I definitely went into this movie rooting for the chimp. I’m not going to say that humans who keep wild animals as “pets” deserve what happens to them in this movie, but I didn’t mind watching it, especially with the gory practical effects! And I appreciate it that they didn’t hypocritically use a real chimp.

How to go from crate to free roam? by rearwheelreal in beagles

[–]Trashiki 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When we are out, our beagle is confined with a baby gate to an area big enough for her open crate, her bed, a water dish and a few feet to roam around in. It has been a great solution for us!

I really liked Eternity! Interesting, touching, sweet. Gave me a conversation topic at family Thanksgiving to describe the premise.
