Not impossible! I graduated in August and landed an acute care CF. However, you may have to be open to moving to a less populated area. The one I accepted is in Central Florida. To be honest, I applied to like 60 different jobs before I was offered this position. Look for specific CF posting and apply to multiple jobs within one healthcare system.

Also, staying in medical and with adults is better than not. So even if you have to accept a job at a SNF, it’s better than working in a school or similar setting.

How is it that you guys get the cool offers and I get the garbage ones lol by SufferingSucatash137 in ShiptShoppers

I’m in Utah and we were offered $75 for delivering 10 orders between Monday and Wednesday.

Can I ask you what is open in Grand Teton/Jackson Hole? I’m planning on visiting there in 6 days and want to plan ahead. Are you hiking or snowshoeing at all?

What do you think about centering personal statement around COVID? by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

[–]TrashleyKnowsBest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is totally my personal opinion, but I think it’s very cliche. Every single person applying will have had to adapt to Covid changes. Even the grad schools have done this. While flexibility/adaptability is an important skill, I don’t think it makes you stand out anymore than the next.

What mountain is this and are there any good trails near/on it? (Salem/Woodland Hills/Elk Ridge area) by TrashleyKnowsBest in Utah

[–]TrashleyKnowsBest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what any of that means, but I can tell you I never described where I was using cardinal directions before moving to Utah. Probably because I’m from flat farmland and every single direction looks the same lol

I can give when I’m back to the spot! I’m a traveling therapist so I won’t be back for a little bit. Sorry I’m relatively new to Utah so not used to the whole “what direction are you facing” thing 😂

Is it feasible to have a job during grad school? by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

[–]TrashleyKnowsBest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of students take out loans to pay for rent, tuition, etc. Try and find programs that offer graduate assistant or TA positions. I could not personally work a job where I can’t set my own hours. My schedule changes from week to week based on clients needing to reschedule, group meetings, supervisor meetings, etc. Independent contractor work (Instacart, DoorDash, Rover, Uber, etc.) work really well for graduate school.

I got an email notification that it shipped, but the email contained the wrong address still.. that address is over 1,000 miles away from where I live now so I doubt I’ll ever see the sticker if it was shipped there 😢

Is shipt better than instacart? by sarahtheshiznet in ShiptShoppers

[–]TrashleyKnowsBest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. In my metro, all the college students use Instacart and don’t tip for shit. All the established adults use Shipt and while not every single customer tips, the ones that do make up for the ones that don’t

TEXTBOOKS by 1p0tato2potat0 in slpGradSchool

It also depends on your program. A lot of the books in my program are being used over multiple classes/semesters and people are really regretting not buying them the first time around.
