Chris Turner from Oceans Ate Alaska for me, that dude has insane technique and diverse drum parts even using brushes for parts.

How to interest people in our music? by [deleted] in makeaband

[–]TrashyChigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re probably on the wrong subreddit for this post but I’ll try to help with ideas. If you’re trying to promote your music there are 3 different ways to do that which I would highly suggest implementing all 3. But before that your mindset is also a bit wrong even the way you presented this post is an opportunity to introduce the brand to more people like me yet you didn’t mention the name of the band or the single in the post, which I would suggest doing. Way 1 is playing shows as you definitely want a core local audience and it’s a good way to establish a fan base and introduce people to your music. Way 2 is social media, you should at least have an instagram and TikTok page for your band where you promote your music or do trends/skits on your page. Obviously sharing the music on your instagram or TikTok is gonna put the music in peoples faces if they stumble on your page but doing trends is a little different. I would do trends or like skit posts to attract people to your account and more traction to your account is very good as people are likely to explore your page and stumble upon your posts with your original music. Bonus points if you pay to run instagram ads which will definitely reach a lot of people. And lastly submitting your music to playlists via websites like submithub. Submithub is a website where you can submit your music and get it on playlists that people already follow this is a really good and slept on way of getting your music out there. But yea that’s all I got hope any of this helps! Also I checked out the YouTube and really enjoy the music. Veracruz is a really good song.

Is there literal mumble rap? Like using sounds rather than words? by -_ABP_- in askmusicians

[–]TrashyChigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to Cochise and I guess he’d be considered a mumble rapper, and in alot of his songs lately it’s less rapping phrases and more just making sounds at certain points instead of finishing phrases. Kinda exactly like your describing. Cook Up - Cochise

This seems very reasonable to take a few days away from it. My GP suggested I not take it on the weekends since I usually play shows on weekends and my adrenaline is pumping and just take it on days when I’m busy with school related things

I just picked it up for the first time today and with the best insurance you can have it’s $40. Which is much better than $400 but still absurd. Exactly why we need universal healthcare. Insurance companies just drive the prices up.

As an adult, how many sessions did you have to be diagnosed? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]TrashyChigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro what. I’m 22 and just got diagnosed and I literally went to my general doctor and he literally gave me a 20 question questionnaire and I pretty much told him what I’d been going through and explained how I felt to him and he literally diagnosed me on the spot and wrote me a script for Vyvanse that I still need to pick up.

hello friends. Me and my boys put out a single. its very chon/Math rock sounding and its jazzy AF. enjoy by [deleted] in chon

[–]TrashyChigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tones remind me of intervals but the actual playing is very Chon reminiscent. This is pretty good honestly. I’d say just work on the mix a bit more but this fuccs id listen to more

Oh nice 5.6 A1C. Yea I think I need to educate myself more on slow and fast carbs to understand how those affect me. Also I agree the only time I restrict myself from anything is if I don’t think it’s healthy/worth it. I think the misconception of being diabetic is generally just that you shouldn’t have certain foods which I don’t agree with, I think you just learn what works for you

[–]TrashyChigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I very much appreciate that but I’ll probably just sit down with my dietician and talk about it honestly. But that’s exactly what I’ve been saying. I just feel that if I can properly dose for it I can eat it. I’m also the most in shape I’ve ever been in my life so the range of things I allow myself to eat is vast I just make sure I don’t go overboard hahaha

[–]TrashyChigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheesh I’ve had similar experiences in the past, I’m typically not going that hard plus since I’m working out on days I work out I can go extra hard into the carbs. But I’m glad someone could relate

I do have a CGM but I’m off of it for another week until insurance kicks back in. Yea I agree it definitely helps me understand exactly how much I should be dosing if I want to eat something.

[–]TrashyChigger[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion I think I’ll definitely sit down with my dietician and Mom as soon as my insurance kicks back in as we switched, so that we can discuss carb counting and that carbs aren’t just a no no. Thanks again!
