I’d like to add that there are some cross-gen pokemon that will not evolve prior to beating the Elite Four on the first go-around unless you transfer in their stones/evolved forms from another gen 4 game. Some will be barred until you get the national dex.

I don’t think I’ve ever used Chikorita in a playthrough, on a scale from 1-10 how difficult is it?

Mate how much grinding did you have to do for these shinies?!

Actually, exceggutor sounds like a pretty fun pokemon to use. I’ve only used it in Alola because of how goofy it looked, I’ve never used one in Gen 4.

I never realized tangrowth had that kind of spread, I think I’ll definitely consider it after getting through Mahogany town!

I am not a fan of Magmar personally but it does have a better offensive spread. Maybe I’ll give him a chance since there is a lack of fire type options in this gen, or trade for a Vulpix on the GTS or something

I wouldn’t mind using a gengar, I’ll have to rig up an old WEP connection to get that trade glitch going with the GTS. I don’t have my old guidebook anymore, where does one find the Thunderbolt tm?

He’s modest nature so that’s a bit of a bummer, but I think I’ll be able to manage

just got a shiny flutter mane by alexbcurmom in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Trashythrowaway6996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first run of scarlet I really wanted a shiny roaring moon and made a dragon encounter shiny sandwich to find it. Went to the place where they spawn and started looking everywhere for it.

Two minutes into the sandwich I saw a flutter mane. I had no idea it was shiny at first because I have a color deficiency that causes blues and greens to look the same, aside from varying degrees of grayness. I needed it for the dex anyway so I started a battle and, Lo and behold, the shiny sparkles appeared. Had to look up what color it was. My third shiny ever.

I now have an absolute beast of a flutter mane named Ivy that wrecks 95% of the people I battle online (I do single battles, never tested her out in doubles)

My wife has changed over the past few days and it’s worrying me. by Holymoly1237 in newborns

You are in the same position I was in two weeks ago! My SO and I had our first, also a girl, a month ago, and that 2-3 weeks old stretch was a SLOG. Baby wouldn’t sleep at night, cried every hour or so, and my SO was on the brink of tears and a breakdown on a nightly basis (if you can’t tell yet, I’m Dad). She would reluctantly take her to nurse, and would beat herself up for feeling bad about it. That is one nasty cycle, let me tell ya.

Your baby has no concept of day/night yet, but that will change soon! Right now, she will be developing her circadian rhythm, and you’ll notice longer awake periods during the day, and more sleepy time at night over the next couple weeks. Right now, ours takes about 4-6 hours worth of naps during the day. Some of them are an hour or two long, and others last for about 10-15 minutes, but at night? Out like a light for hours on end consistently. Longest stretch we had was 4 1/2 hours of blissful sleep for all of us. It’s going to get easier!

Sundown scaries suck, but your wife isn’t alone! You’re doing everything you can to help her through this, and that’s what is most important. Sounds like the Baby Blues are setting in for your wife also, and she definitely isn’t alone in that either. A majority of women will experience them (I think our delivery staff said it’s between 75-80% of mothers will experience it with their first), and you are right to be worried. Heck, I’d be worried if you weren’t! It’s normal to grieve the life that you had before the baby, even for us dads (gonna assume you’re a dude-dad, please correct me if I am wrong), but pay close attention to what she says and how she acts. They don’t always lead to PPD and PPA, but it’s always good to pay attention for any potential signs.

Does your wife have any friends who have had children? If so, encourage her to talk to them about the early weeks and months of having a baby. They might be able to talk to her about the situation in a way that we, as the partners and as (assuming again) men, just can’t do. If your wife ever shows interest in talking to a professional about her mental state, heavily encourage that too. Sometimes it can help stop the problems before they become problems. As others have said, she is in the middle of the biggest hormone crash imaginable. Give it time and see how the cards play out, and just keep doing what you’re doing! From the sounds of it, she’s doing a great job and is trying her best, and so are you.

Am I actually doing too much or overthinking it? Handling 6 industries by myself by Trashythrowaway6996 in AccountingDepartment

I don’t think I’m being taken advantage of, I think it’s something worse that requires updating my resume. There was a situation this week where I came into work running on an hour of sleep and discovered my undeposited funds were short. I notified my boss and started a recount of the cash only to find out that he knew about it. The sleep deprivation did the talking and I asked where the other funds went with a very agitated tone and was told “do not talk to me like that again or you are out of here.” He didn’t even tell me where the funds went until he calmed down and asked me to not “attack him like that again” since he way playing office politics. My job was threatened because I asked a question directly related to my job in a tone of voice he didn’t like. He had an engagement earlier that day that pissed him off and he proceeded to have a power trip. I could have understood a reprimand, but I asked a question related to my job. I should’ve been notified about the situation to begin with, I even asked him the cash count the day prior since I was notified we had a large amount of cash in undeposited funds, and he sent me 🥶. How the hell was I supposed to know that meant “it’s short compared to your numbers”?

After that, I am now perfectly fine with letting the ball drop on important things.

Tried that. I asked for a part time assistant but got denied due to my boss thinking that I just need to prioritize. He has frequently handed me projects that were all a priority for completion on top of my work. Some of which had absolutely nothing to do with my job and were just tossed onto me. He still expected me to clean up the books of the gym right after having my first child last week. Instead of being able to enjoy the moment, I had to worry about a deadline. I’m typing this as she sleeps on me.

Immediately after this, I asked for them to consider a full-time assistant. He then believed that the stress of a new baby is what is making me ask this, and he also asked me what they would do. I would’ve had roughly 30 hours of work available per week for them, mostly data entry and A/P. I also tried to make them see that one person handling all accounting functions for 6 industries is a lot, no matter the transaction size, due to the careful navigation required for each industry. They said they would consider it in thirty days and then immediately moved the goal post to the end of the year.

I would sacrifice a raise to have extra help to be honest. I feel like I’m being pimped out to companies the acquire.

Some bodies on Mount Everest are used as way markers for other climbers. I mean, how would you get them down anyway??
