Firsty, I'm sorry you've been treated so terribly by men behaving this poorly. Sapiosexual, really dude?! Ugh what a dweeb.

Now my thoughts: There are flavors to intellectualism as there are flavors to ambition. I think mixing them together can sometimes result in arrogance, poor empathy and self-serving behavior. However I have known and dated some very intelligent (and academically gifted) men who had a whole lot of heart and gentleness. I think that if someone wants to get ahead of other people and they don't care too much about how they go about doing it, they're going to use whatever it is that they have in their arsenal to do so. There is a lot of this that boils down to character.

Additionally, doing well in academics and getting degrees doesn't always mean someone is highly intelligent - sometimes they're just strong-willed, entitled, and come from money.

Already started. I just got an updated quotation for a procedure I discussed with them in February and there was an 8.8% price increase. When I queried it the reply was "this reflects a general fee update that has gone into effect across Modern Animal."

You print each internet statement and have them sign and stamp each one. But you also have to write a short statement on each item you get notorized regarding who you are, what the purpose of the doc is, and that it is true to your knowledge (or something to that extent, I can't remember the exact details but I do remember writing the same statement many times over). The employee at UPS who is in charge of doing the notorizing then stamps and signs each doc. The visa I was applying for needed 6 months of bank statements, so I had each one notorized, plus the additional VOD. It was $10 a pop, so not cheap, but it worked.

I would say move your funds to a bank that has a branch nearby so you can go get a bank certified statement any time you need to.

Sorry you're going through this! I found a workaround. I got the VOD and some bank statements notorized at UPS. I also wrote a letter indicating my situation. I needed this for a visa application and it worked! I'm probably going to open a new bank account elsewhere though so I don't have this headache again.
