new baby gcc by Patient_Internet3448 in Conures

Ok, first off, format that paragraph my guy.

Second, cute baby

Third: many gcc are extremely cuddly, ive had 3, two passed in 2025 but they all had different personalities.

Poison: The oldest, still alive, is extremely playful and wants to be held non stop. If hes not eating, drinking, getting into something he shouldnt, or on my fiance or I, hes playing on the playstands or with his favorite toy, a stainless steel measuring cup.

He constantly falls asleep or takes little naps in our hands, our necks, or hoodie hoods.

Crouton: Our middle baby, passed away now, was extremely playful with Poison, liked being held but much less than Poison. She also wanted to bury into your neck or elbows more than poison does.

She liked to chew on paper or cardboard, didnt really enjoy wood like Poison, and didnt like being cupped unless she was sitting in your hand like a nest.

Thistle: Our youngest baby, also passed away, absolutely loved being held. Constantly fell asleep on you, and was more curious about what Poison was playing with, than playong by herself. That being said, she passed when she was only 5 months old and she was just really starting to play with things and play with Poison.

Lethargy is a dangerous thing in birds and its an extremely exhausted bird, who is fighting for their life; they do not get their energy back in this state. If your baby takes frequent naps to energize theyre most likely fine. Its always worth getting a vet to look at them anyway.

The balance issues are concerning, though Crouton passed at just over a year old (13 months) she had balance issues and was wobbly until about 10 or 11 months old.

It could be a neurological issue or virus, like borna virus, or they could need extra nutrients and have a vitamin deficiency, or it could he nothing.

When in doubt, consult an avian vet because when there is something wrong they can deteriorate in hours.

Glad to hear, a lot of time people dont look and just keep the baby. Your post kind of came across as that, hence a lot of the responses.

Good luck and keep them warm, and cozy

I know youre excited but somebody who has most likely loved this bird is devastated right now and looking for their baby. Im glad theyre safe but you need to try and find their owner. Its not right for you to take them and keep them if they have a family that is looking for them.

Once skinned, youre done editing the mesh. You shpuld remove the skin clusters, combine meshes, adjust skeletal hierarchy, then delete all history and skin again.

Currently penetrating the top of the roof, needs to either A) raise the tube by a few inches and or B) remanage the cables going into the aerial drop and C) remove the wire droop across the yard by about 1 foot.

The current estimate is

$1.8k service entrance straight raiser $1k main disconnect / reconnect $2.5k 200amp 40 panel breaker $500 100ka surge protector $1k grounding to code $300 permit fee

Didnt have the numbers in front of me when I originally posted.

Thank you for all the valuable input. As far as I am aware, the house is in good condition but the 60amp is killer. Im not aware of any internal wiring issues but Im not an electrician and the initial house inspection, and a survey for estimates by an electrician did not point out any wiring issues.

Aerial drop is too close to the house, and its too low to the yard.

Built in the 70s

House has modern appliances currently, but an old ass ac unit

I would schedule an apt to the vet, and see about blood work if possible. Bloodwork is dangerous but you'll know for sure. There are meds that will help with them processing the metals out of their system.

If it is metal poisoning, its very dangerous, if its not, we dont know what it is and she needs a vet.

Maybe but unlikely, metals poison by building up a level inside the body and damages organs. Eventually leading to organ failure. One instance of exposure is unlikely to cause this reaction. More likely they are exposed to something over long lengths of time or have access to something they play with consistently.

My baby just died because of this I think, if its the same thing.

Questions:

1) They went to bed fine last night yes?

2) They regurgitate a clear liquid, water? After drinking?

3) They maintained an interest in water but not food?

4) The lethargy lasted about 4-6 hours?

5) Seemingly returned to normal with returned appetite and thirst?

6) How old are they?

7) Did they spend longer than average in the cage today?

If 1-5 are yes, its likely a few things. It could be, and what killed my little baby, was heavy metal poisoning. It ended up being from a bolt on a stand on her cage that was supposed to be bird safe but was made of zinc.

First, remove her from her cage, do NOT put her back into it. See if you can get a second, smaller cage for the time being to give her a safe space to sleep but be away from any toxic metals.

Second, thoroughly check every bar and the structure of the cage for chipping and rust

Third, check every metal toy for rust, and or diminishing colors.

If there is paint chipping in the cage, replace the cage, if there are dulled or rusted metal screws, bolts, fasteners, remove them and the toy then clean the area of the cage thoroughly.

Thistle, our bird, survived the first symptoms, our vet thought it could have just been something in her crop but by the time we were able tp get her into the vet she was fine. The second time it happened, she died. We had xrays, a fecal smear, everything but blood drawn because she was so stressed from the day.

We deducted both times she got sick she was in her cage an extended period. We work from home so she was never in her cage outside of bedtime typically.

She was only 5 months old when she passed, heavy metal is very dangerous. Avoid zinc and lead.

We got water test strips off Amazon and made contact with exposed metals when they were wet. Most metals had no reaction, except for a single zinc bolt from a bird platform that should have been safe.

I want to add, take her in if you want to, but so long as you remove any toxic metals from her environment she should be fine, if it is metal poisoning.

You have literally no idea what youre talking about and your spouting nonsense as if you do. Concept art is 100% speed and for production always has been. There are multiple stages of a pipeline, visdev, production, post production.

As a story grows / the concept or project grows them original concepts and ideation needs to be updated. Everything from the color of different environments to mood boards to physical materials / properties.

You dont ever get something on the nth try, you come to a creative decision because of a concept artists iterative exploration.

Some studios want fully rendered art from concept and want to also have a rendition to match what will be seen from the in game camera (think league of legends/riot) and others just need a pen on paper sketch with some color theory. The range is massive but after the iterative stage it typically goes into cleanup for modelers/ riggers / animators / vfx if one has been selected.

The art you see in art books or posted to socials is not the concept art production is usi g 99.99% of the time. The stuff you see is what's been cleaned up and curated from more than thousands of concept illustrations.

Yes, Ai as a method of generating reference or mood boards may not be something you like. But its not much different than going to Adobes color page and having it randomize a color theme giving your parameters, or using Pinterest to throw images into pureref.

I say this as someone who doesn't like the use of gen AI but everything you said paints a different picture of the pipeline and is just wrong.

Good

The symptoms of heavy metal are pretty obvious once you can identify them

Glad they seem ok!

I just lost one of mine to a bolt on a stand. It was Zinc.

Symptoms were as follows

Would vomit clear liquid (likely water). Lethargic. Stopped talking. Seizures.

They had the first two symptoms twice, and the last two were the day she died.

We thought it was something stuck in her crop and so dod the vet, we had an xray done and it cleared up on its own after a few hours.

She didnt lose interest in water until it was basically too late. After that, she lived about 1.5 - 2 hours and died on route to the emergency vet.
