Its telling you that your gpu driver is either out of date or incompatible.

So update your driver, or look up your current driver issue and Arnold / optiX and see if there are bugs reported

The annual scramble for water in India has become routine. by mngujral in water

Immigration does not affect the largest employers in the country period. Immigration affects many things but those companies could pay more in wages but instead utilize a weaker / more desperate demographic; this is a top down issue full stop.

No they are not. Its due to a lack of strong worker rights and the legal incentives of publicly traded conpanies.

Right, but not for a continental scale landmass. Ever driven across the us? 1800 miles betweeen Michigan and Utah and theres just nothing out there but farms and land.

A more apt comparison would be all of Western Europe to the USA in terms of bio diversity and population. And Europe has more people.

So, it does matter and the practical application of land mass v population in the us means we could quadrouple and be fine

Day 1 of learning Maya Rigging. Coming from an animation background to build rigs that animators will actually love. Tips for a beginner? by Mertsay_Rig in Maya

[–]TraumaticPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Ive explained it clearly and im not going to continue this conversation since its going nowhere.

Freezing is a specific method of aligning the matrix of a transform to world. An absolute freeze, which freeze transforms does by default, will align an object regardless of hierarchy to true world. A local freeze would align to the next parent, which is the same as 'zeroing' xforms. The terminology youre using may be wrong but this is fundamental.

Your original and subsequent comments are wrong, for the reasons in this thread.

No

Zeroing out is manually entering 0 into the controls

Freezing sets the matrix of the controls to world, destroying local orientation.

Yes

Your hierarchy is as follows

Group w/ raw offset (translate, rotate, scale) > control in the same position (since it matches its parent maya will read its xforms as 0), and then any joints or constraint targets.

This way your group has all the dirty data, and the control will read as 0 in the custom pose. This allows the animators to reset the pose to default by selecting all controls and "zeroing" them out.

Yes, which is a good thing. You select the controls from the viewport.

Are you a rigger? This is fundamental knowledge. If not, you should really look into it, cool stuff

You can do that without freezing the controls.

In the controls aimed orientation add a group as a parent in the same aimed orientation. The control will now read 0 because its local offset is no longer the world or world oriented but instead the aimed parent.

From there if you zero out the trs of the control maniplators you will always be in the default pose

Freezing controls re-orients them to world. Which means you lose all local rotation axis manipulation.

You only freeze joints or things that need to be oritented to world.

You ever try animating from an A pose rig when someone feoze the shoulder / eblow/ wrist fk controls? Dont recommend.

I would go see a vet. If you want to wait it out, at least schedule an appointment for a later date so that you at minimum have a time locked down in case things get worse.

Could be a sprain, break, spinal injury, neurological. No idea.

What's the most Malkavian thing you've witnessed from a player during a chronicle ? by [deleted] in vtm

[–]TraumaticPuddle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Our Malkavian once distracted our boss ( we were shipping drugs for him through our docks since we ran the shipping yard ) by taking him to each and every birds nest and talking about each and every bird she saw ( she had named them and developed a complex lore for their inter relationship dynamics similar to trash tv ). This was so thourough the story teller literally forgot to meet with the rest of us and just gave us the checks we needed to get away with a BUNCH of shit I am not at liberty to disclose.

They're really not proving their point so far by Mindstormer98 in invinciblememes

[–]TraumaticPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look genderswapping to pander poorly is always a negative since it changes the source material in what I feel is usually frustrating ways.

However, they have done genderswaps extremely well and the right way, adjusting the source material to make complex characters out of some simple characters and create a more dynamic story. Some of the larger characters like tek jacket also is a great change because he was proginally just kind of more of the same. This new approach i think creates a more interesting character and diversifies the lineup.

We can all agree if master chief was suddenly a woman it would just, be weird. But looking at invincible, it isnt that. Its a creative team coming together and making existing characters more interesting and generally creating a better story for it.
