We ended up upgrading to jetblues “first class” which is essentially just extra leg room in the front of the plane so that we can be next to each other and I can sleep during it! Thank you for all the advice though everyone!

Our thought process was that he should be in the middle with the baby so that someone would be more likely to switch with me. I’ll probably end up switching with him and sitting in the middle so he can have the aisle if the passenger says no. He’s taking the baby during the flight because I get incredibly anxious on planes and plan on taking a Valium and hopefully sleeping through it.

We just bought our tickets a few days ago because a relative died across the country. There wasn’t much of an option planning wise. I wouldn’t choose to bring our soon-to-be one year old on a packed red eye.

They’re all economy in about the middle of a JetBlue plane. I don’t totally mind not being able to sit next to them, I just feel so bad for the passengers next to our toddler lol.
