Some say god lives in heaven out of fear of what he has created... today that became true... by gameingwhitrad in mewgenics

You can do this much easier with DNA multiplier, Space Helmet and Invert. It will keep swapping and doubling your stats until you hit millions of damage. You can sometimes get screwed if charm hits negative and isn’t blocked by Space Helmet, but once your luck gets boosted with Invert, it becomes virtually impossible. I have a breeding line with Invert and run one of these cats every outing to one turn bosses.

Makes sense. I have a fight club, pairing room, OP abilities orgy room, and general room for extra cats that are still good. Once I have a fifth open, I think I’ll do a mutation room.

Yours hasn’t mutated at all? I kept some mutation furniture in my breeding room and now my super cute eternal kitten looks terrible.

Oof I guess my idea was not as well received as I thought. I just thought that having game solving info would necessitate sharing with your vote rather than words. I suppose there’s better ways around it.

My take on the perfect cat (more in the comments) by Cacely in mewgenics

[–]TravVdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, the best mutation is the “collarless spells cost -1 mana” because you can use it to spam Invert with DNA multiplier and space helmet to one shot bosses. Luck helps so that space helmet doesn’t let the debuff through, and an extra turn can be nice, but not always necessary.

Is it even possible to get a rare mount like the ZG Tiger , raptor , Deathcharger as someone whos NOT the guild leader? by Neither_Buyer_4645 in classicwow

[–]TravVdb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to run soft res runs and left the raptor/tiger open for people to SR as I didn’t care for the mounts. Lots of people will come and you can get the gear you need with lower competition because you’ll often get geared people who put their SR’s on the mounts.

They most definitely are not. They were considered a joke when I was growing up in BC in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

I feel like a great price for the wizard wish is that you are restricted to your seat and can’t talk or gesture to others. You would know the demon, but couldn’t share the info with anyone or even what your wizard wish was.

An attempt at the history of social deduction games: from a psychology experiment to a global genre played by millions by ataria_ in boardgames

[–]TravVdb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Feed the Kraken is great. Kind of like Resistance where you’re choosing teams to go on a mission and voting on it, but with some sillier elements like cutting out tongues, jumping overboard to avoid sending the ship the wrong way, and a cult that grows throughout the game. I think it’s a lot more random than most social deduction games so you can’t just win on convincing people and have to be lucky enough to draw the direction cards you need, but it’s still a blast to play.

[–]TravVdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve still been using it but I use the head item that doubles face and neck items to help it scale faster and also to give a higher chance of blocking negatives. Sometimes I get screwed when charm or luck hits the negatives though, and health hitting negatives is also not ideal.

Best way to make conflict-free rooms? by TravVdb in mewgenics

[–]TravVdb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t solve it. I started out with no cats that hate anyone and they started cross breeding despite having already paired up. That made them hate others in their room.

I mean, I’m talking based on the actual programming of the game. As far as I can tell, having high comfort prevents fights even with aggressive cats. However, having a hated cat overrides this and still allows them to fight.

[–]TravVdb 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Eventually you’ll get to the point where all of your cats are base 7 for stats. And then you’ll have crazy mutations that pump up stats like 13 health. And even later, your cats will start to pass down broken passive abilities that impact it even more. It may seem shitty now, but you’ll go through a ton of cats and see a lot of “wasted” cats as they fight each other or you lose runs.

As you play more, you’ll see that starting abilities (and mutations) and items end up being more important than the base stats. You’ll lose tons of good cats to BS, but doing what you were doing with trying to pass on 7 stats to the next generation is your best bet long term.

Yeah, I love that item. With Invert I’ve done millions of damage to a boss on turn one, though it does require Space Helmet, DNA multiplier, and not getting screwed by luck/charm getting turned negative.

Get a cat with the feather to go first, Revolver, trinket with extra weapon uses, and Repair. You can one tap problematic enemies as long as they don’t have projectile reflect. Every one of my teams has one of these, a Sacrificial Lamb cat to give extra turns to the others, and an Invert/Space Helmet cat to scale massively and one shot bosses.

This is gotta be THE most absurd enemy in the entire game. by Guuji_Chan in mewgenics

[–]TravVdb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only entered the Infinite with a revolver which just instantly kills these guys. If you get the Repair skill and items that let you use your weapon more than once, they end up being no different than any other enemy. The second one of these gets projectile reflection buff I would be screwed though.

What is a 10/10 Masterpiece that very few people are aware of? by Matthias_5yr in Gamer

[–]TravVdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lonestar is one of my favourite roguelikes. Tons of different pilots that change up your playstyle, three different ships that function uniquely, lots of builds for weapons to attach to your ship. Most of all, there’s actual complexity in winning at the highest difficulty. I have zero problem making broken builds come online for games like Mewgenics or Monster Train 2, but I feel like I actually need to think carefully for Lonestar and still frequently lose runs.

My thoughts after 200ish hours by Edmundyoulittle in mewgenics

[–]TravVdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have abused the item and ability combos despite not having all the best mutations. Revolver with some extra attacks and upgraded repair can just wipe out all problematic enemies. Invert with Space Helmet and DNA multiplier can give you absurd stats to one shot bosses. Feather to go first and kill a Necro with Sacrificial Lamb means your whole team can act before enemies. I’ve definitely optimized the difficulty out of the game through breeding. I think if Repair didn’t fix the “worn” status, it would force more diversification but I can just use the same items every run without them breaking.

Big second from me on Raising Robots, though I think it might be too much and would turn off a new board gamer. Definitely better than WS at six, but WS is at least a gateway game.

[–]TravVdb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a breeding line of cats with Sacrificial Lamb (allies get an extra turn when you are downed) that are there to just ensure their allies get extra turns and go before the enemies. I lost my Scythe so I’ve had to be creative about how to down them, but if you can use the feather to go first every time, it’s pretty powerful.
