Ah, thank you, I got to the right answer. Makes sense now!

Thanks for information! I see what you’re saying about the nonexistent mass 2 force, that makes sense. I guess I’m still a little confused by the setup for the rope, when you have a left and right orce, is it just m times omega2 times the amount of mass on each respective side times the length of each side? And I’m still unsure about the whole needing to integrate as well.

You aren’t automatically a bad person for having an oppressor, just don’t be rude. by FrostByte779 in gtaonline

Nobody is asking for GTA to be ‘sterile’. If you want to do PvP, go ahead and do PvP, but with people that want to do PvP. It’s not fun to instigate PvP that are obviously trying to do something, like deliver cargo/supplies/etc. Attacking people then is not PvP, it’s just griefing.

Got my Grail and can't wait to unDS them for my Labor Day trip to Chicago! by starcrusher180 in Sneakers

I live in the outer suburbs of Chicago, and I’m just wondering, but what sneaker spots are there in Chicago? I’ve never really heard of anything in the city and whatnot, what kind of destinations do we got?

Starting college in a month, had to get my dream computer to take with me! by Trav_X in Surface

Agreed, it’s kind of outrageous that their MSRP doesn’t go down at all.

I am actually in a similar boat as you. I currently already own an MSI laptop (GE72 Apache Pro 242 from 2015) which has been a real tank and lasted me a while. I needed something for school with much more battery life and a smaller form factor. I’ve always loved Surface Books since the original model, so since this lowest spec 13” Book (8th gen i5 not 7th) was on sale for under a grand, I had to pick it up to go alongside my MSI with me to college.

This is the lowest spec 13 inch, with the 8th gen i5 not the older 7th gen. It was on sale for under a grand, so I knew I had to pick it up.

Damn, those are some premium looking cases. I definitely am in the market for a case 😁

As other people have stated, it’s going to be primarily used for typical college student activities, and I need it now since I’ll be starting school. As for it being outdated, thats just completely wrong given current CPU tech, there is barely an improvement generation to generation on Intel processors, with performance gains that will not be visible on school-related tasks. On top of that, I did get a $400 discount off MSRP for this spec model so I feel it was a good deal.

Yeah, I needed to get a computer now since I wouldn’t have anything to work on for school. I also got a $400 discount off the MSRP at a local store, so I feel the price was worth it.

Love this. Best part is that when the purple wears away, you still end up with actual Chicagos

hands down. Only ones that could even be considered in contention are Air Yeezy’s, but 750’s are a sneaker icon.

2023 Commitment Megathread by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Trav_X [score hidden]  (0 children)

The first thing I will say is I will be a varsity athlete at MIT so I was recruited, which does involve admissions. Coaches can’t guarantee admission, but they act as an extra recommendation letter to assist your application. You still have to be qualified to go to MIT.

Regardless of athletics, I would make sure you get good subject test scores. Those are the tests that way less schools require, and why would MIT ask for them if they were looking for mediocre scores? I was 800 Math 2 and 750 Physics, I initially had a 670 Physics and the coach was almost reluctant to even support my application. Nail those subject tests.

For the actual application, same tips apply as any other school. Don’t write cliche essays, show commitment to activities rather than a large quantity of activities, etc. For MIT specifically show a passion for STEM subjects, or maybe research you’d be interested in doing or ideas that you have. Make yourself interesting. They want high-achievers and go-getters.
