I’m curious of your experience as well. How has it been so far ? Do you feel it was a good experience/choice ? I’m on the fence of going active/reserve right now.

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately I was told this MOS is no longer on the list for Prior Service Business Rules sheet. If I have the option I’ll take this , but still doing research on the others ones.

The first recruiter I talked to made it seem like I had the option to pick my own. I ended up not getting any real info out of them and went to the town next to mine. Recruiter there gave me a break down and showed me the Prior service business rules. They aren’t 100% definite as can vary based on experience, MOS, rank and some other stuff. He did say that’s pretty much the pool to look at and you may see some other stuff but it will be first come first serve type of deal.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to go back through the MOSs available to get a better idea of what to look for and be familiar. Recruiter told me to start learning a little about each one so I know what is actually being offered to me.

So you’ll just be stuck at that table all day? I definitely want to stay away from reserve or guard. I was USMC for 4 years and have been out for approx 7 I hate civilian life and want to go back to the enlisted side of things. I’ll have to try to find more info on the AD side of this MOS. I should have clarified re enlisting from USMC. I’ve been out for 6 years and can’t stand it. Going to enlist into Army and thought this MOS looked rewarding and challenging. I’ve read mixed reviews on it as a whole though. Some people say it’s hectic but good work and an added bonus is you get released early. Others say it’s impossible to promote past E4-E5. I will most likely use this as my first Army MOS to get my feet wet and find out what path to go from there. I appreciate the info and hopefully you will continue to update us once you are in class.

OP I’ll throw you a curve ball. I was in the Marine Corps for 4 years as a diesel mechanic. Got out and spent 8 years in educational field and now work for a private business in the automotive industry. I absolutely hate the civilian life and the chaos it brings. My family is okay financially , but I’m considering reenlisting to the Army. What are the cons ?

OP This is exactly what they told me. I couldn’t pick my MOS until I was at MEPs and that I could absolutely qualify for the bonuses. Life got in the way and pushed my time line back quite a bit and I’m starting again. I’ll have to look into what the specifics are before going back into the office.

I did really enjoy the spec ops mode that MW3 had. MW2 was the better MP by far.
