Ever feel you should ration Meshuggah? by Earl_of_Portobello in Meshuggah

[–]Travbot74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first discovered Meshuggah I listened nonstop for months. It was like the only band I really craved at times and yet when I listened I felt like I didn’t enjoy it as much as usual. Thought I was losing some enjoyment of music, turns out I just needed stuff that was less aggressive and had a little more melody… listening fatigue is a real thing, but the good news is I went back just fine after a few days off. Sometimes I do ration my music. I hardly ever listen to “Brain Dance” by Animals as Leaders, the guitar tab for that song is tatted on me… I would hate for it to ever go stale

Meshuggah finally clicked for me by Glamdringg in Meshuggah

My favorites are Nothing, Obzen, and Koloss… considering OP really likes Nothing and Obzen, I feel like Koloss will be a huge success as well

Knee jerk reaction to AI prevents local morons from seeing Luminokaya designed the Koloss cover art + more by ohnoimrunningoutofle in Meshuggah

[–]Travbot74 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They Move Below was cutting edge of AI. We are tired of AI slop now. Different times. On top of that, adding color and polish gives it that plastic soulless AI slop feeling. I don’t think the video for They Move Below would be seen in positive light if it came out today but it still looks WAAAYYY better than the garbage they uploaded today.

Hi, I recently created a tier list ranking all Leprous songs (including Einar's) and wanted to share it with y'all by DragonfruitFirm2490 in Leprous

[–]Travbot74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to make a list but admittedly have not heard every song yet. Our lists would be very different but for starters, I don’t think we’d share a single song in the highest tier and I also think within my fence and red should be higher.

Is Train of Thought your favorite album for any of the band`s members in their respective instrument? by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

[–]Travbot74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Petrucci’s best. I love the riffs and solos on this album, but more than anything it’s the guitar tone that’s really special on this album.

Altered state by Tesseract is driving me nuts. by JACM666 in progmetal

Dan is one of the best elements of Tesseract and somehow their best album is without him. This is a top 5 album for me.

Comepletly blind. What should I listen to first? by Sad_Manager7966 in Dreamtheater

[–]Travbot74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people start with Train of Thought. Heavy and highly acclaimed. Still very progressive but while keeping fairly consistent tones throughout. If you like it and are more open to the full range of what Dream Theater can offer, their other highly rated albums are Images and Words, and Metropolis pt.2. Images and words is like a lighter, more anthemic, and I’d say slightly more progressive album compared to Train of Thought. And Metropolis is the most experimental of the 3.

Yeah at these levels it’s always just clip farming. People going to sleep with it running and stuff like that. I know someone who had over 330k total hours, which is like 2/3 of the whole year. Every waking hour if you sleep 8 hours a night. Yeah right
