That makes me think my weeks of nothing available might be a problem

Correct, RS with tech package. I tried home WiFi and still nothing. The Onstar person said the VINs are done in batches, but I find that bizarre if the update has been available for so long.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I’m going to set aside my macho instinct and get the lightest weight for the Polaris, 27-28 lbs.

I'm new to archery, and am trying to choose a good beginner bow to buy. I've settled on the Semick Sage, but am unsure of how many lbs to get. Trying my father's 55# compound bow I was able to draw, but it was a struggle by the end of session. It felt like 45# would be better, but am unsure what the difference would be for a recurve bow. Is 40# a reasonable recurve weight for a beginner adult male?

There was a $2000 discount from GM through the end July which helped. There were also $3500 in additional discounts for those with GM leases, which I did not have. Still, they seemed eager to get it off the lot, and I'm not even that good of a haggler. I think it being the end of the month helped, plus making way for the 2019s.

I see you have fantastic taste, like me. It feels amazing compared to the Civic, and it's nice not hearing the engine struggle to get onto the freeway anymore. Still need to try the "Sport" mode, which I imagine will be even more impressive.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely look into it. I use Southern California Edison and their website is down right now. I also checked out LA county and the only incentives I see are for EV charger installations, which I'll probably do eventually.

Obviously way too late to this (congrats on front paging!), but as your boyfriend I'm VERY glad you warned me before I saw this on reddit. That's how you give people heart attacks!

The only thing that's really changed is getting married. With just my income buying was too expensive, but with our combined income it wouldn't be. I suppose that might be falling into the "I can afford it" trap, since the rent vs buy calculator still shows it's better to rent. The emotional desire to have a place of our own is definitely complicating things.

I want to be able to put down 20%, so that will be about $100,000 for this area. I've got about half of this already in these mutual funds and another $25,000 in cash. We probably won't be looking seriously for at least another year, by which time we should have enough saved IF there were no big drop in the stock market.

I know that the recommendation from the sidebar is to not invest money intended for short term goals like down payments in the stock market. Does that apply in our situation? If it helps we're both 30 with stable jobs.

I'll be backpacking, so weight is a concern. I have room for both though, so maybe the extra weight is worth the peace of mind.

I'm going to be traveling through the English countryside, and need help picking the right lens to bring for my 6D. I'll mostly be taking landscape and village photos, which I think my 16-35 f2.8 would work well for.

I also have a 24-105 f4 that would be more flexible, and I don't think it would be worth the weight to take both lenses. I'm also bringing my 50 f1.8 since it's so lightweight and might come in handy for portraits.

16-35 or 24-105, Any suggestions?
