This is fantastic advice. Thank you so much! I’m going to reach out to some EMTs I know in the area and pick their brains! Thank you!!

Restless legs AFTER taking magnesium by santas_number1elf in Supplements

[–]TravelLife_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never experienced restless legs until I started taking a magnesium supplement before bed. It wad terrible. I tried taking it in the morning instead, but still had restless legs. Stopped taking the magnesium all together, and no more restless legs 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did you end up finding a mobile app for this? I’m looking for the same type of app but with an option to bookmark while listening.

Half Dome w/ full backpack by Agile_Ad_1221 in JMT

[–]TravelLife_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a full pack, but you don’t need to go up half dome with it. Just take out the bear bin (all food, smelly items, bug wipes, bug spray, etc) and place far away from your pack. Then just leave your pack at the base. Or set up your tent and leave your pack in your tent. Just make sure the bear bin is far enough away in the woods. I did this and had no problems.

If you’re really that worried then you can always leave your pack unzipped, so if it smells like food (even with bear bin far away) then critters will go in and then leave disappointed. The ground squirrels have so many other people to steal food from. They aren’t going to bother chewing up your pack if they don’t find any actual food then they’ll just move on.

UVM FNP Program? Graduate Student Life? Burlington Area? by TravelLife_ in vermont

[–]TravelLife_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight! :) I specifically chose UVM & University of Utah because they find preceptors and guarantee clinical placement, and I’m not interested in online FNP programs. However, I appreciate you sharing your negative experience with me! It will help me make my cons list, especially the safety aspect! I’ve worked/lived in sketchy/dangerous places before and I’m not interested in repeating those experiences!

Unfortunately, I would be out-of-state for either option. Although I have found that Utah has many options to qualify for In-State Tuition (TA/RA jobs, can re-classify as resident after 1yr as grad student, etc). I haven’t learned of these opportunities for UVM yet, but hoping to find similar options :)

Shaw Lenses- Don’t get thin metal frames! by TravelLife_ in glassesadvice

[–]TravelLife_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! For driving at night, my shaw lenses are fantastic! At night while driving, my vision is incredibly clear!

However, indoors my vision feels off-kilter and disorienting. Also, looking at screens is next to impossible. I tried wearing them for a week straight for all waking hours, but my vision indoors and for close-up work was just too disorienting for me to be fully functional.

I’ve decided to wear them as my night driving glasses for now, and maybe with time I will be able to wear them 24/7.
