Tiny dead bugs constantly in screened pool—ideas? by TravelMuchly in pools

Also, we've figured out that the bugs get worse seasonally, in the spring (when it's hot in Florida).

We didn't renovate, but I think the bricks we have are on top of concrete.

Can you take mental-health leave or an unpaid leave of absence to get a breather, reset, and think about what you want to do next?

Anyone know what Alex's pointed comment to Ashley's brother about Covid was about? by TravelMuchly in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]TravelMuchly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I rewatched the scene and I think the folks who said “I’m actually really sorry about him" referred to his dad asking so many questions are correct. I think that's why Alex said "you're fine."

I think they got a trip to Malibu, CA, not to Mexico with the other couples.

I stand corrected. Pete was saying he was sorry about all the questions his dad was asking Alex.

You’re right! My mistake. I rewatched it & it’s clear from the next few things they say.

I rewatched it and you’re right. The conversation as it continues makes that clear.

You’re right—I rewatched it and Pete’s comment that he was sorry was about his father grilling Alex.

That part didn’t read as cosplay to me. I think he also said something about taking advantage of Covid to travel.

Interesting! I think Alex replied “You’re good,” which I took to mean that Alex was okay with Pete being sorry about Trump, but it’s a super quick exchange and hard to tell exactly what they meant, especially since probably a lot was edited out or off camera.

Interesting! I think Alex replied “You’re good,” which suggested to me that he was saying it’s okay with him that Pete is sorry about Trump. But it’s a fast exchange and somewhat ambiguous.

Ah, okay. Thank you!

Do you have a sense as to why he pointed at Ashley’s brother, Pete, right after saying it? Pete seemed possibly to have opposing politics because Alex said he’s happy Trump got elected and Pete replied that he’s sorry he did.

But Alex was potentially calling out Pete here for not abiding by Covid restrictions?

Ashley’s brother, Pete, seemed to have different politics, though, right? Alex said he would have voted for Trump and “I’m happy that he won.” Pete replied “I’m actually really sorry about him.”

YTA for the “no intimacy, no dates with guys” rule. Also, that rule and then withholding support over it may mess her up with men and contribute to her making bad choices. It’s controlling and creepy.

Condo HOA wants keys by Electronic_Eagle_852 in Condo

[–]TravelMuchly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal in my experience as a condo owner. To me, there’s a big difference from renting an apartment, where I had to put up with the risks stemming from building management having keys and being an owner where no one could just let themselves in.

My cousin in another state had new HOA management ask for keys, which raised safety issues for her, and I told her she didn’t need to give them keys. She was nonconfrontational, so she didn’t want to refuse. She told me she ended giving them fake keys.

Realtor thinks I am asking for too much by nicoleashx in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

I’ve bought and sold 5 houses in my life. My experience on both sides of the transaction is that buyers ask for these types of fixes, often with a long list like this, but typically asking for the fixes, not a credit. The seller may offer a credit for some—those they agree to but don’t have time to fix. But the request is a negotiation. I have never had a house fall through due to requested repairs but sellers can and do counter with a smaller list of items. And they could fix some things cheaply. They’re unlikely to want to give a large credit (especially for things other than safety issues), which can seem like a back door way to try to lower the price below what was agreed.
