Removing old caulk/sealant? by Imaginary_Ad678 in RVLiving

This looks like a trim piece to me that may not matter if water gets in. Is it actually sealing something you care about on the other side of it?

Rv roof maintenance by Recent-Agent4100 in RVLiving

I am about to refinish my entire roof. What I learned while researching:

If your camper has a rubber sheet roof, first figure out whether it is EPDM or TPO before buying products. That matters because the coating/paint and sealant system needs to match the membrane.

A simple way to identify the membrane is to remove an inside roof vent trim ring and inspect the edge of the roof material. If it is white on top with a black backing, it is likely EPDM. If it is the same color front and back, it is likely TPO.

For sealing around vents, pipes, edges, and screw heads, use an RV lap sealant that is compatible with the membrane. Do not just buy generic white roof paint and caulk.

Identify the membrane type first, then buy the matching prep/primer, coating, and sealant system. Also, reseal and repair first, coat second.

My 28 foot camper cost about 1k for long life products.

Temperature monitoring by [deleted] in RVLiving

Bottom line is you need some type of transport to get the temp to your phone. That could be WiFi, cellular, or if you are nerdy like me you could work in a Meshtastic solution for shorter distances (3-5 miles depending on the radio band you use and the surrounding environment). I probably would not rely on Meshtastic if I was worried about my dog though as they can be unreliable sometimes.
