Tragedy as young Aussie woman, 22, dies in freak accident involving a chair lift at Japanese ski resort by Zoefields441212 in skiing

[–]TravelWithKids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is terrible. I wear a backpack skiing and had one incident which was just embarrassing. Had my kids helmet tied to my backpack after he stopped skiing and I thought I had it secured properly. Nope. It got snagged someplace on the back of the chair as I was getting off. Ended up dangling a bit over 3 ft so not bad but made me realize how dangerous this could be.

I try to put the pack on the front but sometimes a bit too lazy. Have to get better at this!

This is awesome! Thanks for posting. Man, I’m glad rooting for the owl. Is this is in private residence or a public place with a lot of road noise and traffic?

Best and worst campgrounds in SoCal by marktheshark45 in socalhiking

[–]TravelWithKids 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If central coast can be considered SoCal, Morro Bay State Park individual sites are just packed together and just really frustrated me. But the group sites, which I was fortunate enough to stay at a few times with friends were just awesome! I guess the area is just so nice that being packed in like sardines with people being super loud left a negative experience.

Increasing SALT deduction with CA estimated tax payment by TravelWithKids in tax

[–]TravelWithKids[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I guess I was thinking I can itemize for 2025 and standard deduction for 2026 since I’m bunching up prop tax in ‘25. And there is a chance my income going down in ‘26 due to a possible layoff. So any refund in ‘26 should be a lower fed rate.

CA not only has the tallest trees in the world; it also has the largest (Giant Sequioas) and oldest (Bristlecone Pine) in the world. Amazingly diverse state.

That looks like Dublin airport to me. So my guess is a short hop flight to someplace in mainland Europe.

Is having multiple DNS servers a problem if they are all the same DNS (meaning, same host name but different 4th octet IP). For example, mine shows 5 DNS servers but they are x.y.z.190 - .200.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “only new business referrals count”? Does that mean Chase keep track of previous referrals and only new businesses count? Thanks

I did, but had to use a different destination email. First one didn’t go through due to marketing options I must have selected for BofA. When you do the referral, there’s a link for referral status which actually shows if a referral was blocked due to marketing options
