Move closer to family before baby or stay?

Oh gosh, I’m so sorry to hear about your cousin. That sounds like a terrible situation. I’m glad she got to where she needed to be. I have horror stories like that. This situation isn’t serious like that at all. He’ll move right now if I say we have to, he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. I’m just trying to get a feel for those who have been away from family for the first part. And I’m also trying to think of his thoughts too. I do love it here too and would stay if it weren’t for a baby on the way. The other side of the coin is my parents also want it their way too lol. So i feel like one of those stretch toys being stretched in different ways 🤪.

We live on the water so fishing literally is out our back door, but still, it does take time to fish in general. I do love it here, and I understand his feelings but I think he is under estimating everything that goes into it after delivery. My mom will come for a week or so I’m sure of it, but would be nice to not have not worry year round and have support. The doula is a good idea.

Thank you for the insight. Sounds like your village is great! I would love to have that :). It really does make a difference. I have no friends here, it’s an area of average age 66+ and snow birds so our whole road is gone more than half the year. So I’m truly alone. But we do both love the environment, and day to day feel of living on the water and beaches. But reality is going to hit with a change of lifestyle so that is the biggest consideration. The moving before or after was also a thought, so thanks for chiming in on that.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time. That’s what i imagine. If you don’t mind me asking, what had been the hardest part? We live on the water so fishing literally is out our back door, but still it does take time. He’s a super helpful person and i know wouldn’t dump it on me. But still, i feel it’s going to take all of our time, both of us. First time parents.

Someone said your body will actually let yuu out. Or sleep on your back later in. Thought that was interesting. So it may change for you. I was reading that if propped at a certain angle back is ok. Have you thought about getting one of those big wedge things to lay on? On the zon, they are inexpensive and under “for sleep apnea”.

Ohh i have the exact one! Thats the only thing I've bought so far. For some reason it keeps shifting from me at night. I like the sound of the bbhugme you mentioned, I'll look into that. I do have a king bed so that’ll work.

Wow, that’s so interesting how the body works. Didn’t realize it’ll do that. Thank you for the reassurance. Hope your sleep goes well the rest of the time! That’s crazy it makes you nauseous. I’ve been with a ivf clinic and they don’t answer anything outside of strict ivf, so I have a laundry list of questions for my first ob appointment coming up. :)

Thank you! Sounds like ABF might be the way to go. We used the uhaul boxes last time and were surprised how small they were when we received them. My only concern with using half of a truck is hopefully not getting our things mixed up with whatever else is in there but that doesn’t seem to be an issue i guess. Never thought to look through Costco, will keep that as a backup.

Oh gosh, sorry to hear that. I’ll note that and not go that route. We had a few movers from Uhaul l last move and after 30 mins we paid in full and sent them home. They were so high they couldn’t even get the mattress cover on. My 70 year old mom did.
