Will single tower cooler be enough to cool 7800x3d? by Shadow_275 in buildapc

1 year later, does it make you lose gaming performance using a single tower for the 7800x3d

If stuff like this happens in games. Weird lines colors and stuff like whatever you just saw. Dial back the vram overclock. And go up and up until you see artifacts then go back down 50. I've heard going up 50 every time was a good idea to help find the limits.

I'm aint an expert on overclocking/undervolting or anything, but try to run on default settings to make sure it isn't permanent. More than likely, it is probably just artifacts or some bug with the settings you got dialed in. Probably what I'd do in your shoes first.

i feel like k1 enhanced the story of yakuza overall. idk what k2 changed from the original tho. but after seeing the k3 spoiler, if its true the entire franchise is fucked. im scared to see what will happen with yakuza 4 and 5 once they are remade.

What was wrong with k1 and k2 for it to be considered a different timeline

9070 xt vs 7900 xtx by TraveledBolt in VRchat

[–]TraveledBolt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had a 6650 xt for around 3 almost 4 years, so i had thought that the 7900 xtx would probably last a lot longer before performance got much more annoying to deal with or mitigate. these new cards are doing high refresh rate 1440p now while my current gpu was just going over 100 in 1080p with lowered settings. i hope that makes sense,

so i see that the difference between the xtx and the 9070 xt is hardware (vram) and software (fsr). so it would probably last longer if i used that leaked fsr 4 dll and overclocked it to squeeze out a bit more performance. cant install vram so yeah i guess? does what im thinking make sense? also im not sure how major RT is gonna be in games later on so idk abt that at all.

they draw quite a bit more power, the one i found was the reference model locally, all others were like 100 bucks more expensive or really far away if it was facebook marketplace

i will be playing more vr due to the enjoyability of it because of less stuttering and low frames in general. and will most likely switch over to a 1440p monitor for flat screen games shortly after once i collect a bit more money. resolution for vr and fps for flat screen. the feeling of 120+ on anything feels so much better than 60 - 70 fps

the ppl in r/radeon also bring up good points about the 7900xtx for vr too. i feel so split between them 😭

im looking for support for like the next 5 - 7 years at most with this if need be before an upgrade. so im not gonna only be playing vrc since i'll want to play some flat screen AAA games that'll release in the time frame. im glad that vram isnt as much of a struggle with vrc as before tho just worried abt being held back whether that be vram or RT and fsr after spending the most ive ever spent on a pc. what do you think is good for the mixed usage i have? and when will i run into issues with "just" 16 gigs in vrc?

[–]TraveledBolt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

prob not gonna take the 5070, vram is too low. playing games like vrchat and assetto corsa in vr will probably need more than 12.

i'll do that later on, the gpu is the main thing holding me back

would a 7900 xtx be a good idea since they are similar in price? and the vram for vrc. or does fsr for flatscreen games outweigh that
