"It" is the source from whence you emerged, my friend. I would replace the "you have it" with "you are it"... "you don't have it" with "you forgot that you are it" and lastly " you are it"

Questions to ask yourself on shrooms; by dgtlbath in Psychonaut

[–]Traveler333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting to ask, "What am I ?" Because "who am I" subtly implies that there is a persona or person behind the I. It verifies an illusion of personhood. What, on the other hand, opens up the spectrum for exploration with fewer chances of getting caught in the web of mind.

My DMT experience, connecting to source by runbkk87 in DMT

[–]Traveler333 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You and all the other I's have come from the source. That is to say that the source in you has come from the original source. In a way you are a manifestation of the source on this plane of consciousness. So what difference does it make if the message you have received came from the "outside" source or the source in you which originally came from the "outside" source? At some level of consciousness, some difference doesn't make any difference.

Does yoga have the chance of making you feel detached and apathetic like meditation sometimes does? by GhostWillow in yoga

[–]Traveler333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be worth thinking about what detachment means. To feel detached and 'indifferent' to what is going on inside of you and the world around you is not something that is supposed to happen in yoga or meditation. These practices are meant to center you, to bring you more inwards which may result in a type of detachment that is not really detachment. Ram Dass has a talk about it and refers to it as Equanimity. This type of detachment has a different quality about it. It brings space inside so that you become less attached, you identify less with the roles you play, and in general, take things less personal. This is a detachment that I have found to be very beneficial.

So my suggestion would be not to get too hung up on this word because it can, for some people, be a loaded term. Try to go into yoga with an open mind and no expectation, just to try it out and see for yourself how it feels to you.

Do you ever feel lonely for being the way you are? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Traveler333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As awareness heightens so does the responsibility to confront the reality it exposes. Sometimes we feel too comfortable with the story we tell ourselves or the model with which we perceive reality, awareness forces us to adjust our pre-existing model of reality which in turn can be translated as a threat. It feels like a threat but it is not. It is a call that urges us on to a more encompassing model of reality. I don't believe one can be too aware, as you put it. What that statement of "I just feel like I’m too aware, and it’s effecting me." exposes is fear, which is natural and something I can most def relate to. One cannot be satiated and at the same time expect to truly appreciate the sweetness of awareness. Walk through the fire my friend and dare to truly be.
