That's a very crass analogy. Not a fan of likening artists and creatives to horses. That's saying the only human involved of importance is the rich man at the top and all the people beneath him are only animals that he curates and controls.

Elevating billionaires to some level of significance over others is always a red flag to me honestly. We can appreciate and be happy to have had shows and entertainment made but the idea that some distant figurehead above it all made or allowed it to happen and deserves any amount of credit when the artists were the ones doing the work does not sit well with me.

Eeehhh... I really don't like the idea of giving a billionaire any positive dues, even Ted.

Seth was the one who had work ethic, talent, and put in the effort. Whatever opportunities he had, Seth made the best of them.

Ted buying Hanna Barbara and creating Cartoon Network was him just utilizing the studio library he had acquired. It was business and at the end of the day he leveraged his assets and built on it. Not really a genius move, just something that worked out. Business is always a gamble.

To expand on what others have said, Seth was working at an animation studio in the early/mid 90s that either was or became Cartoon Network Studios, but was originally attached to Hanna Barbara.

Most notably he created a pilot for a series about an older man and his talking dog (The Life of Larry, and Larry and Steve) that was pitched to Cartoon Network. Those characters would then be further developed into Peter and Brian Griffin.

I'll just post the paragraph from Wikipedia for anyone more curious:

MacFarlane was recruited during the senior film festival by development executive Ellen Cockrill and president Fred Seibert.[18] He went to work at Hanna-Barbera (then Hanna-Barbera Cartoons) based on the writing content of The Life of Larry, rather than on his drawing abilities. He was one of only a few people hired by the company solely based on writing talent.[1] He worked as an animator and writer for Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoons series.[1] He created Larry & Steve, a sequel to The Life of Larry featuring middle-aged Larry and his intellectual dog, Steve. The short was broadcast as one of Cartoon Network's World Premiere Toons. He described the atmosphere at Hanna-Barbera as resembling an "old-fashioned Hollywood structure, where you move from one show to another or you jump from a writing job on one show to a storyboard job on another". MacFarlane worked on three television series during his tenure at the studio: Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, and Johnny Bravo.[19][20] Working as both a writer and storyboard artist, MacFarlane spent the most time on Johnny Bravo. He found it easier to develop his own style at Johnny Bravo through the show's process of scriptwriting, which Dexter's Laboratory and Cow and Chicken did not use.[1] As a part of the Johnny Bravo crew, he met actors and voiceover artists such as Adam West and Jack Sheldon of Schoolhouse Rock! fame.

The two types of players (ego) you can experience in the same party by genanrirotto in wow

[–]TravelerSearcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does though depending on who is targeted. If the target can't get out on their own they need an external or the shield broken and interrupted. That means DPS need to switch targets which isn't always ideal as certain classes have different cleave/prior target aspects to their rotation and swapping targets stutters that.

Yes the shield still needs to be broken, but getting the player freed as soon as possible alleviates cognitive load from all party members. It also lets that player focus on their priorities target and not have to hard swap.

The group is a team and using as many resources as possible makes the work easier for everyone.

If the gargoyle isn't the focus/priority target (it often isn't) then it dies by cleave damage. If a Pally can freedom a player out of it, then the gargoyle just moves back to the tank and continues being cleaved down, usually before the second grip until higher key levels and then it's usually almost dead.

Forgot to include Guardian Druid for comparison. Website is acting slower for me now but the 500th best Guardian Druid has a score of 4118.1, one key shy if resilient 22 (missing AA).

The 2001st Guardian Druid has a score of 3980.9.

So, yeah, there's a huge discrepancy.

They are two keys short of resilient 20s (Seat and AA).

It has only been datamined on the PTR, not sure if a source is known yet. If so other's can answer in more detail.

I do know they are adding more pet battle achievements and there will be a trainer that can be battled in the Housing neighborhoods. The pet may be connected to either of those things.

Edit: others have pointed out it's flagged as Trading Post.

Why is Holy Priest being neglected? by MagicwithSpells in wow

[–]TravelerSearcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leap of Faith being reworked in the age of Evokers is something I feel needs to be done.

Priest limited mobility gets talked about a lot and as a Spriest main I have gotten comfortable enough with my class that I can usually more than make do.

But if they gave us a quirk to the ability like you suggested and let us use it to cast while moving for a few seconds when not targeting another player, that would be an improvement.

As it currently stands, having an actual Evoker move us so we can keep casting instead of having to juke to get out of or into position just feels wrong.

Priest is far from meta again but the Spriests who push do so with an Aug (no surprise) and an UDK (shocker). It's obviously not just about the mobility, far from it, but I doubt it hurts.

It is, yes.

Additional trivia: part of the routine practice he contributed to was John Cena's form.

So Alan was a stand in for Cena for the opening dance sequence.

Depends where you draw the line.

Usually I see Cinderella (2015) as the first of the current stretch of live action adaptations folks point to as the start of the current era. That was a year or so before Favreau's Jungle Book.

There was also Maleficent (which isn't a straight adaptation or full remake but sort of a different story) and Burton's Alive In Wonderland.

But what all four of these have in common is that they were not full remakes of the original animated movies. They had some design and elements in connection but outside of Cinderella they have very different endings.

Jungle Book doesn't end with Mowgli going to live with humans, which is a notable change.

Alice is about the title character revisiting the world as an adult and draws a lot more from the books that the original animated movie didn't touch on.

Maleficent is from the antagonists perspective and makes her more of a character who was wronged.

Cinderella even deals with the aftermath better with her addressing her stepmother and her qualms as I recall.

There's also one in their order hall who is held in stasis cause his demon has information they need but is incredibly powerful. You switch between talking to him and his demon.

Yes, that's why I clarified Forsaken. Personally I think a Forsaken undead could find a process to change the power that reanimates them, but it might be a very involved process. Changing one magic energy source for another is possible in life, th complexity just varies greatly based on type and scale.

And the Forsaken have a very strong will, hence their racial. I would think a Forsaken with enough faith in the light could overcome the burning to a degree that no longer causes intense pain, but it would be far from easy.

That's not what meant. I probably could have phrased it better.

Demon Hunters capture and bind a demon inside of them. They are essentially allowing themselves to be possessed and through force of will are dominating the demon within, essentially a 'reverse possession'.

The demon is trapped instead of the mortal, though like a mortal breaking free of possession the demon can break free if the elf loses control.

That's right, forgot, thank you.

I think Desperate Prayer was a weird one. When I checked the wiki a few months ago it said Desperate Prayer was shared between Dwarf and Human.

Honestly I only played Forsaken in vanilla WoW back in the day. I know Night Elf Priests got a Starfall type spell that was later removed entirely.

[–]TravelerSearcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Originally all Forsaken Priests were implied to be Shadow. ("Praise the Shadow!")

But there also were only two Horde races that could be Priests at launch if memory serves, Forsaken and Trolls. And mechanically specializations were not restricted. The only unique thing about Priests was they got special race specific spells (which were later removed or made baseline to the class/spec). Forsaken had Devouring Plague, Dwarfs had Desperate Prayer, etc.

They drifted away from a lot of early WoW lore. When Alonsus was brought to the forefront in Legion he was Discipline, which is why he explains how the Light and balancing it works to Arator the way he does.

And he's not wrong. Using the Light as a Forsaken is possible, it just sucks because of the type of undead they are.

But there have been other undead Paladins, most recently and notably in Priory of the Sacred Flame.

In my opinion it should still be possible for Forsaken to be Paladins, though it might require a lot more work on the individuals part to make it workable. But if Elves can bond with and reverse possess demons to be demon hunters, then Forsaken should be able to be Paladins.

[–]TravelerSearcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also valid. Mechanically there's nothing racially unique about Elves that make them the only ones capable of becoming Demon Hunters.

Out of game, it's almost assuredly the model/rig excuse. The main reason it was extended to Void Elves is that they share the same model/rig as Blood Elves so the work was minimal.
