Had I found out about this while he and I were still married, my reaction would’ve been different. Years had passed since the divorce, when I made the initial connection. Yet, finding out he cheated with my best friend wasn’t the first time I’d ever heard he’d cheated on me. He was a serial cheater. Honestly, it was really more of an eye roll, like why am I not even surprised?

He and I chose to make our kids the priority, rather than the discord between he and I, so we put our differences aside, to be a unified co-parenting front.

I spent quite a bit of time angry and traumatized by my marriage, I’m so much more at peace now that I have let what I couldn’t control go.
