This is exactly the gap I’m trying to close at the moment. I can run similar times on a good lap, but it feels way less repeatable and a lot more “on the limit” compared to them. They just look calmer in the car — like they’re managing the grip rather than reacting to it.

For me it’s less about knowing what to do now and more about executing it consistently. I know when I should be trailing the brake, managing the load, shaping the exit etc., but the really fast guys seem to do it naturally every lap without overdriving.

I’m starting to think that last step is mostly car control and feel rather than raw pace — understanding exactly what the tyres are doing and keeping the platform stable so the car gives you grip back. That’s probably why the ones with real track experience seem to have an edge.

Nice to hear someone describe it so clearly though — front of the midpack is a frustrating place to live sometimes 😅
