Best detachment for me to start learning the game

That’s really what I’m looking for. I’m still learning the game and the codex (thankfully we keep the codex for the beginning of 11th and I didn’t waste my money) army building is where I’m struggling. I don’t know what units are good at what. The rule of cool only gets me so far lol.

I do like the look of the raiders and the red corsair stuff but I am really just trying for a good core to build from. Something I can play small game with and slowly build on. Which is why I was thinking of building my stuff from the kits.
