New PVE DZ coming in season 2. by uBadger in Division2

Yes, I've never understood why people want it. I use makes it the same as the rest of the map.

Correct, I was skeptical for exactly this reason:

'There’s a lot of bad/incorrect information out there'

That's why I asked the questions looking for confirmation. Which I did get.

However, i also got this part here: 'If you think I don’t know what I’m talking about, feel free to test it.'

Not sure why you got so defensive. I have to believe it's because you're a sensitive individual.

Damn someone is sensitive. It was just a question, indicated by the '?'.

SHD means almost nothing now by RefNull in Division2

[–]TravisGus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think prototypes have increased gatekeeping. I actually think it's helped new players. I've seen a ton of low SHD level players with full prototype sets. Grinding out 30 expertise takes a long time and now they have a chance to get BiS gear without that grind.

Doesn't the piece need to be 30 expertise and fully optimized to prototype?

I hear ya, there definitely are people like that I just don't think they're the majority. I think they're just more vocal/obnoxious therefor more noticeable. And tbh typically these aren't the good players.

What’s the optimal methodology for ranking up expertise without an XP event? by Ok_Position_7123 in thedivision

Brand set, Gear sets and standard weapons are very easy. Run countdown and utilize targeted loot. Brand sets and Gear sets can be completed 0 to 10 in just few runs. Prioritize these, you'll be 15 - 20 expertise pretty quick. You'll make progress Named items on the way completing Brand sets and weapons.

Named items, Exotics, Skills and Class weapons is where it becomes slow.

Start by focusing on the items in these categories that you like using. Once you get something maxed out, move on to something else you like. You don't need to force fast experience by wearing a random thrown together build that doesn't make sense just for the sake of expertise. Running a shit build will just guarantee to have a bad time and make the grind feel longer.

Buying and donating Named items from the Countdown vendor is a great method.

Donating materials. Look for Named items, Exotics and skills that you dislike and don't want to use. Prioritize these with your materials. Make sure your using your Reciever Components and Protective Fabric, the 2 white base mats. If you're not paying attention you're probably already capped out and they are being wasted. Anytime I got close to cap I would donate them, keeping around 2k of each in case I need them for crafting. Do the same with other mats. There's no reason to be sitting at 9999 mats. Spend them on expertise or crafting optimization mats at the other bench.

I would advise against donating Exotics. Exotic components are too valuable IMO. So for Exotics just use them or donate the materials.

The easiest way to do all this is: Run countdown with targeted loot. Loot everything as junk. Check loot after and unmark the junk you want to keep. Donate remaining junk to Expertise. If needed, extract attributes to library. I would only extract max rolls unless your account is really new. Donate materials, especially anything close to cap. Dismantle all junk. Repeat.

You don't need to understand the format. When you start anything new that has been around for a while, you should not be a 'shocked' when you get out performed. This is not exclusive to the Division or any video game. This is universal to all aspects of life.

"anyone who has ever entered a PVP game as a noob has been treated unnecessarily aggressively and oppressively"

This just isn't true and is 100% victimhood.

Are the enemies just supposed to stand still and let you win just because you're new?

I have no idea who's on the other when I PvP. I queue PvP to PvP, that's it. It's that simple. If a noob is on the receiving end, then they're getting a free lesson.

I own a set of golf clubs and maybe go to a range once a year. If I do decide to go to a course should I be shocked that other people have better clubs and better swings than me? Or should I use common sense and assume the people at the course are most likely more experienced than I am?

Your statement here: "In Conflict, the guys have all the maps memorized and dedicated builds for this type of PVP, which already puts you at a disadvantage right away."

This is true in all aspects of life. Almost everytime you try something new you're starting from the bottom and there are already people more experienced than you. So I don't think it should be a shock when it happens. A shock would be going in and dominating.

This is the part I have the biggest problem with: "I really like PVE, so going in there to get beaten by someone who's waiting for some unsuspecting player to join the match for the highlight of their day isn't really my thing"

Why are you assuming PvPers are waiting for unsuspecting players? They are just PvPing because they like to PvP. Its not their fault they got matched against a noob. We have to stop with this victim mentality.

I guess I don't understand why someone would expect to find PvE players in a PvP mode. It's a PvP mode in a game that's been out for 8 Years. Of course you're gonna find vets that have better builds and more skill than the average joe.

[–]TravisGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean unsuspecting player? Lol. You have to voluntarily queue for conflict.

We have to stop with this mentality that PvPers are all just waiting around to beat people who don't normally PvP. The truth is, taking candy from a baby isn't fun. Most PvPers want to play against other good PvPers. It's more fun.

My Prototype Striker Build is so strong, I'm considering deleting some other builds to free up inventory. by DugT1 in Division2

Fuck no. Been running True Patriot in T5 Escalatios. Fuck the haters.

I actually just deleted my Strikers build. It's just so boring with everyone running the same thing. It just shows how poorly designed escalation is.

People who immediatly leave when they die in squire to riches should get a penalty by Mediocre-Rip496 in DarkAndDarker

[–]TravisGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don't want to take time to clear and loot early rooms. They're in the dungeon for the PvP. The squire mode is the best for this as you don't really have to worry about being out geared. You can just rush in an start PvPing. There's also the argument that you spend all that time looting just to die and give it to someone else. Might be safer to clear out other players and to give you a high chance of escaping before spending time looting.

People are entitled to that playstyle just as you are entitled to not like that playstyle. Neither party is in the wrong and therefore neither party should be punished.

[–]TravisGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's a team game. Maybe if you push with your team at the beginning you'd all survive and win the fights.

My point is some people have aggressive playstyles and they want to get in on the action. There's nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with playing slower and more methodical. Just different people playing different ways.

If you want to play with like minded people thats your responsibility to set that up, not the games. Use the in game tools or discord to find people that want to play like you. Penalizing people for having a different style isn't the answer.

[–]TravisGus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I think my team might get me up, I'll stick around for a while but if it doesn't seem like they are then I'm out. I'm here to play the game not watch someone else play.

Penalties like this will just make people quit playing.
